Alternatives to Qatar Pet Relocaters?

I will be bringing my dog to Doha.

I have contacted QPR but so far most of the information they have given me about the dog's arrangements outside of Doha has been wrong. They also seem strangely unwilling to help me get things organized. It is possibe that their expertise is limited to facilitating the animal's clearance in Doha and I cant fault them for that, however, I need to find someone who can facilitate logistics for the dog's entire trip. And because they have so incorrect about general information I am not willing to trust them with teh Doha end of things, now. The dog will be traveling from the US. Has anyone used a service other than QPR that they'd recommend? Thanks

Hi, I used Qatar Pet Travel (www.qatarpettravel.com) to bring my dog into this country. They have been absolutely brilliant, I highly recommend their service.

Can you mention this on QAWS facebook page? I think it would be helpful to have as many ppl aware of this scam as possible.

is the REAL animal relocating company

Qatar Pet Relocator (without the "s")  is the foney one set up by a vet in town that is trying to "steal" business from QPRs.

Do becareful with the second company, as ethics is not their strong point, which should be pretty obvious when you have to take another company's name for your own to get your business running.

have you contacted the correct webiste. On http://www.qatarpetrelocators.com

You will see a notice that a third party is masquerading with the title “Qatar Pet Relocators”. They are asking you not to confuse the two. The other company is going by the name of Qatar Pet Relocator. The difference being no S on the end of relocators.

We used QPR to bring our 2 cats from the UK in Jan this year & have nothing but praise for them, we found them to be excellent.

Hope the above helps.

WOw I'm really suprised.  I used QPR just 3 weeks ago for my cat and very large dog and they actually left the airport when we did for our new Villa.  We traveled from Houston to here. She even had food for both, cat litter, litterbox, and bowls to get us through the first few days.  Paramount  Shipping was our other alternative if we wre not happy with QPR, but we never had go go with them since she was terrific!

I have just brought my cat and dog to Doha from the UK. Each country has very different rules for exportation - so, from what I gather, there is no one company who handle the entire journey from export through to import.

I used a logistics company in the UK, through DEFRA (department for environment, food and rural affairs in UK. I imagine there will be similar in both the US and Australia) to arrange the necessary things for exporting my pets from Britain. I arranged a health certificate and all the required vaccinations for both animals through my local vet under the guidance of DEFRA ruling. I then used Doha Vets for the import license and for picking them both up from the airport. You will need to speak to your vet in your current country of residence and then use either QPR or Doha Vets (you can google both) to sort out paperwork this end. If you use a logistics company, they will book the pets on to an airline (mine flew on the same flight as me) and liaise closely with you to help you sort everything out your end. If you then speak to QPR or Doha vets they will arrange import and everything this end and will liaise with your chosen logisitcs comany as well to ensure all required documentation is complete.

Hope that helps a little bit. Good luck - it seems quite daunting but when it come down to it it is fairly straightforward.

Hi, first of all I must defend QPR who have an excellent reputation and have imported many many expatriate animals without a hitch. The lady who runs the company is about as experienced with animals, both rescue and relocation as you can get.  That said, if you really are not happy, Doha Vets offer a full door to door service, or just  meet and greet if you prefer. They are very good at this and import and export several dogs and cats a day so completely know what they are doing. You can call them on 4367187 or email [email protected].  Ask to speak to Dr Khaled or Mr Hani. You can also check out their website at www.dohavets.com.  I hope this is helpful.

Hi Brandme, I have same problem but from Australia.  I have a small dog and I am not sure who to trust to look after my pet.  Please let me know if you find a good Pet Relocator, I sincerely will appreciate.  Good luck too.
