Bahrain the first Gulf State declares war on the Indian labour
Lay off 200 thousand workers in the construction sector and the search for other nationalities
In the orientation was the first of its kind at the level of the Arab Gulf states began contracting and construction sector in the Kingdom of Bahrain process of dispensing with the Indian labour and replaced by the employment of other nationalities result of the strikes by unions for thousands of Indian workers employed in the construction sector, along with claims Indian ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain to lift the wage employment to a minimum of 100 dinars under the wave of high prices experienced in most States (dollar equals 0.37 dinars).
He said the secretary of the General Contractors Bahraini depends on the requirements of the Indian Ambassador to lift the Indian labour wages to 100 dinars would lead us in big losses because we agree when we put a specific project within the profit and loss account since the beginning of any project, and a sudden increase in wages would cause losses up to us 30% of the value of any project, and therefore the General Contractors Bahraini considered the best means to redress the imbalance that has occurred in sudden in the construction sector, has been agreed to dispense with the Indian labour and replaced by other employment available from the Afghan and Pakistani, Nepalese and Filipino.
According to statistics available at the General Bahraini contractors, the total foreign workers in the Kingdom of Bahrain up to 500 thousand workers spread over 270 thousand Indians who works including 200 thousand in the construction sector, construction and 70 thousand in various other sectors, and 230 thousand workers between employment Pakistani and Bengali working in the construction sector and construction.
And that depends on attracting labour Indian or any other nationality to work in the construction sector, construction is the prerogative of the contractors themselves, stressing that the Assembly had received a strong response to the decision to dispense with the Indian labour by most members of the Assembly, who total about 300 contractors from various levels, who range projects between small and large State-owned. He explained that contracts with Indian labour is to remain valid until the end of duration, and hence the process of replacement in the event the Indian refusal to continue serving on the same level currently being replaced in the case, pointing out that the search is under way and coordination with a number of offices in the Kingdom of attracting labour Bahrain to bring employment Bengali and Vietnamese construction sector to work.
For his part, Assistant Deputy Commissioner for Labour, Ministry of Labour Creative Hmeidan that the Ministry does not interfere in the selection of nationalities employment in various sectors including the construction sector, including construction, but the ministry focus on expanding work with the labour-exporting countries, the opening of prospects and alternatives would develop various sectors through employment incoming, stressing that the decision to dispense with the Indian labour is the prerogative of the contractors themselves, and not of the ministry any interference in the resolution because they are based recruitment process, adding that the ministry is cooperating with the concerned parties in order to open new markets in the region for various sectors.
It has been estimated the company's Chief Financial Habib on Awage and Sons Contracting, the daily losses expected by the Indian labour to resort to strike action to 150 thousand dinars, "We as a major Constructions in the Kingdom of Bahrain, the total employment of working we have up to 800 Indian workers, and 380 Bahraini workers, given the reluctance Bahrainis for work in this sector, which Haddana to use Indian labour, but we have since the start of the Indian Ambassador's statements and to begin the process of strikes has come to our attention that our workers will resort to strike if their salaries are not absolved, but when we face our staff so they deny any preparation for strike action in the case which made us worried about the sudden strike, because if that happened it is delaying projects, and a large part of which is public projects for the government, reminding that the workers resorted to the strike by surprise last year in two o'clock to ten at night, and realize the company is increasing each worker 10 JD.
He added that directed the General Bahraini contractors to use the employment of other nationalities would contribute effectively to ending the state of anxiety experienced by most of the construction companies, and workers in the construction sector due to a sudden strike had resorted to such employment, especially after the statements of the Indian Ambassador to lift wages, or Indian labour will not accept work for less than 100 dinars.
The methodology and the company's next phase will focus on a comprehensive amendments notably lifting the percentage of "Bahrainisation", which is currently estimated at 25%, and begin the process of Bahrainis in leadership positions in addition to the company's use of Bengali and Pakistani employment for the reduction of threats coming to us by surprise strike the company, asserting that Indian labour contributed to the growth and development of the industrial sector through projects done, but the threat is always counterproductive.

Market capable of Mtsas crisis
He said economic expert d. Jafari largest of the "markets. Direct" The labour market is subject to supply and demand, and we are living in the Gulf States a liberal economy, but the imposition of a ceiling on salaries of any industrial sector must be commensurate with the system, according to budget sector workers the same without external pressures, as do Indian ambassador to contractors currently working in the construction sector, construction, pointing out that the company has the right to accept or reject any claims to increase salaries in the event of disagreement have to resort to other alternatives available in the arena, and this is what the Bahraini currency General contractors to stop losses Expected by lifting the salaries of Indian labour and claimed by the Indian ambassador.
He added that the move to dispense with the Indian labour will not have an impact on the physical movement in the Kingdom of Bahrain that other employment will work the same effectiveness, but it is expected losses slightly in projects during the replacement only, and then revert to normal traffic projects.
The Indian ambassador in Bahrain Bal Krishna Chitty had confirmed in previous statements that his country adheres to the minimum wage for employment in abroad, despite the threat of replacement contractors employed Indian labour from Asian countries other . said if the contractors in Bahrain wish to bring employment from other states, they have what they want . but said " that Indian workers are men machine to be replaced simply ."
So now do u think any other Gulf country will do the same, what about QATAR

World most demanding Indian workers Bahrain is going to replace with .
No alternate
We can't compare the topic Homosexuals with this topic .
Could be plitical pressure to Bahrain by some of the other nations to throw Inidan labours. Guess, the rulers of Bahrain were brain washed. or were (ARE) they sleeping not to understand the bad effect it will have on the economy. I think India bashing has reached to the level of country rulers too. Hmmmmmmmm

everyday i lose more faith in humanity...as if their wages and conditions werent bad enough....slavery at its worst....
there are a lot of things that Bahrain will soon realise by thowing these labourers out of country.
I have seen labourers from other countries that is mentioned above and their work. these guys work like a rote. whatever u tell them... will be done without using an iota of their grey cells.
The best example I can relate this situation is with the recent unrest in Nashik (a very important industrial town in the state of Maharashtra). this unrest made more than 10,000 outstation labourers flee. Now the situation is many factories have closed and/or thinking of closing. Remember India is apopulous nation. problem will be solved soon. but what will happen to Bahrain.
Point #2... why is project cost only a problem when cost of labourers are involved. look at what we all expats (particularly western) get and compared to us.. these poor guys Shyat.
its better these guys are thrown.. for Bahrain and the rest of ME nations to see the repurcussions of short term and long term.
Let them increase the cost of projects.. All I know most of the projects go more than 10 times the cost than is actually anticipated in the beginning.

I vote for Russians. Can give a good competition to Dubai :)
Then... somebod north of china...get the bloody russians here.
They ought to get out in the sun sometime.
I wonder why it is that I cannot find a single English language article to corroborate this story? Perhaps because it's untrue? The only almost related story I could find was in the Bahrain Tribune. Apparently due to Government regulations forcing hotels to employee a quota of Bahrainis, and limiting the number of expatriates with labour approval, the industry is facing a shortage. The same thing will happen here if they decide that the locals possess either the skills or the motivation to replace the bulk of the expatriate workforce!
They are already here
Bring in the Chinese....
Status of Labourrers will go up tremendously :)
Labourers in designer suits
Sack the Indian labour. Bring the Eastern Europe, African labour....Ha Ha Ha Ha :)
Bahrain is known to lead the way when it comes to making very foolish statements - some days back there was a proposal floated by the labor minister wanting to cap the expat stay in the entire Gulf to a total of 6 yrs, just to minimise the impact of "foreign labor on the local culture", think about it every 6 yrs you would be bringing in a new set of foreign labors who by the time are familiar with the place and its culture are ready to be sent back!
Unskilled workers...
A mason who knows his job can get QR25 (Rs250) per day in India. Which is what they get here.
Here from QR 25 he spends QR10 on daily food (that also mess-food made in camp). If he travels outside by Karwa Bus add QR 2 or QR 5. Travelling by taxi is unimaginable for him here!!! (in a land where oil is the cheapest and almost everybody has 2 cars).
Back home they work for 6 hrs only Here they have to toil for 12 hrs
(most even 16 hrs if overtime is included which is QR 1 or QR 2 per
extera hour!)
Back home they work in better climate......Here the heat is sapping....(could lead to blindness, Kindney & skin problems).
Back home for stomach full of food for QR 3 (Lunch Plate in a Restaurant is QR 1.5). Travel is QR 0.5 (though we dont have the cheapest oil wells in the world!). Taxi is QR 1.3
So why are they comming here? Beats me!
Of course there are many, many who get conned into selling off their lands (from landlords they become servants) and comming here to work as a driver in a Qatari's house!!!
Many dont go back as they have to make good the money they pay the Agents. For this they might have to work another 10 yrs!
Unskilled workers...
Is a Carpenter ...unskilled?
Is a Mason....unskilled?
Is a plumber ...unskilled?
Is a Teaboy...unskilled?
Is you servant ...unskilled?
I guess they gain skill through experience. I wouldnt want to recurit somebody from the above who is "Unskilled"
Indian unskilled workers getting better money in Bombay and other metro cities now. few days back I heard L & T recruiting Indian labours from Dubai to Bombay. To coming to middle-east they spend 100,000 Rs for the visa and getting les than 10K Rs
200 thousand workers !! I remember an isolated incident in Dubai sometime back when the authorities threatned to dispose 100 thousand workers who staged a strike. However in the end only 200 or such labouers were deported. I cannot gather from this article whether this has already been implemented or just thought upon. Secondly, I would also like to question if there is really a construction boom in Bahrain as in Qatar or U.A.E. (someone from construction may have the answer).
This is no doubt a foolish step taken by the Bahrain authority; any nationality workers can't give them assurance for the strike. Since it has been happened before in many GCC when worker undergo on strike with numerous reasons. Now Inflations or on peak in GCC, currency crunch, high rent, high prices of all stuff which directly hits the expat work force income. If every thing has become expensive how come foreign workers survive with the same wages what they used to get 10 years back? This is not the solution of these types of crisis; definitely they are not going to tackle but it will increase one more glitch ………….workforce crunch
Tried to read this but the language was so painfully bad I gave up.

When indian labourer gets same salary in INDIA why the hell he should come to gulf and work leaving his family behind?. why the hell he should take all the insults that local show him here? He can earn more in india than what he erans here. Conditions are completly changed in India. I think Indian goverment should completly ban indian unskilled pleople comming to gulf.then they look out for work in india only which has so much opportunities for labour. Indians are smart people. I think Indian goverment should now start taking care of Indian People abroad properly. Otherwise lot of uneducated people come to gulf becouse of false gulf dream taking loan to get gulf visa and landing up in mess overthat they are insulted by locals everywhere here.
this is a good thing. india should send only skilled people outside the country so that they can learn good experience and come back and improve INDIA
thanks
Nice guy
Where else will they find people stupid enough to work for such appalling wages?
Its financial stupidity......where they going to find that sort of Labourer numbers for that pitance........
You can laugh at me all you like because I have Alzheimers, .......but at least I dont have Alzheimers
i dont know with Qatar, we do not have the like of strikes that they do stage there in Bahrain
Crazy cats Will the arabs do that sort of a job they drink tea inside land cruisers while driving.....
?????? Who are the hard workers,..Just F*** and sc**** arnd is their job,,...
