Flithy Lucre us expatriates earn and how 2 send it home.

Hola!

Want to send money to my bank account standing order style via my wages.

I've heard 2 many horror stories, people getting fleeced by the banks in Qatar / being charged everytime you send part of your wages home, etc.

Is there a bank in Qatar that you pay an initial setting up fee and then off you go without having to pay more?

Thanking you in advance,

In Wenger I trust.

Hi,

Commission is only part of your costs on transferring money. Banks' exchange rates are bad, you need to consider this as well.

Thanks for replying, guys.

Been out and about the banks today & QNB are in the lead via their 'do it on the internet and it's only 40 Riyals'.

Must hunt down a Doha Bank, they allow you to open an account online but want one to one before I throw my lot in with them.

Will look into bank drafts as well, good idea.

Don't think so- you have to pay for what it costs.  Transfer fees are quite low here.
