Qtel's Missed Call SMS Notification

By Aimes2

When I am on a phone call and someone else tries to call me I receive an sms from 1(22) that says:

You have missed calls from... Call #002# to cancel.

There is a problem with the way the number is displayed as it gets linked in with the number of calls, and time of the calls.

Does anyone know how to change this so the phone is able to recognize the missed call from your contacts?

I am using iphone if that makes a difference. I believe this might be a problem on all models.

Does anyone have any insight?

Thanks!

Thanks everyone for your quick replies.

I don't want to deactivate the notification feature. I find it slightly useful.

I have looked around a bit online regarding changing the region number formatting.

I believe this sms notification is the same for all q-tel users - doesnt show the name only the # when someone doesnt have a voicemail box for the number to diver too.

I think ashahhat's comment above is what applies here.

anyway. I am on iphone 1.0.2. Thanks again everyone... continue to let me know your thoughts on this one.

Dandy, AppSupport will help identifying the number from your contacts and display the name instead of Number. For unlisted contact numbers the formats are stored in file /System/Library/Frameworks/UIKit.framework/PhoneFormats/UIPhoneFormats.plist which depends on the Regional setting country.

Aimes2 is your problem with how the number is displayed on the phone 1(22) or you need to deactivate it. If it is the display then it has to do with iPhone setup where the Regional setup is USA. Let me know which version of firmware is on your iPhone and I'll try helping you solve the problem.

so you want to deactivate or cancel this feature?

from what i know..*21*122# is to activate receiving alerts of miss calls..no one would be able to call instead it will give you alert who tried calling you...to deactivate it dial #002# ok..you will then get the regular incoming call..

i dont know though if this is what you need...
