Civil Engineering Query

I have a general Query related to Civil Engineering.Can anybody help me to figure out how to calculate Built-Up area of a Floor.Is it related to Floor Area or the Roof aobve area for ex. if the Floor is 10x10 m and the Roof above has projection of 50 cms all sides then the Built-Up area is 100 M2 or 121 M2.Which one is correct ?

Builr up area means i hope floor area including the walls and cammon walls

Built up area is the area including the area of walls, ok..
