Moving to Qatar job in Ras Laffan, where to live

My husband is offered a job in Ras Laffan, it's not finalized yet. But I would really appreciate your advices for us to move there prepared.
I heard there is a small town between Doha and Ras Laffan, can we find apartment there? One bedroom would be enough as we don't have child yet. How much would it cost? Is it good or convinient to live in that town? (I really don't know the name of the town).

I am aware that expat can only buy house in certain places. Is it possible for us to approach? I mean, are there a long waiting list of expat who are trying? And after several years can we sell it out or it can only be inheritted to our relatives?

Is it possible for an accountant or financial analyst to find a job there?

Could anyone help? Thanks in advance.

what package is offered to your hubby. If he is coming on family package, his company will either provide him accomodation or pay him whole or part of the rent.

Al Khor is not a bad place to live. It has all the modren amenities. As for safety, whole of Qatar is very safe.

Expect to pay between 4-7000 QR/month for a decent studio( hard to find... almost all Al Khor is villas)

Company does not have compound for employees. So we have to find place by ourselves. So, the closest town is Al Khor (why I can't find the place on map? maybe the spelling is wrong?). If it is a safe place I would consider it good. Any idea how much would it cost? Is it easy to find?

Thanks again.

Depend on your social life. Its like 30 minutes from Ras Laffan, and like 45 Minutes from Doha.

If you are going to be alone all day I recommend you to buy a car and go to Doha sometimes for your mental health LOL.

I live in Simaisma another small town like 7 minutes more close to Doha, Very Quiet and safety.

Al Khor its very populated. Lots of people jumping from one side to another (In the Streets) and everywhere.

If the company is going to give you the house maybe you will live inside a company compound which is much better than rent by yourself.

If not. you will need a lot of time to find a good place over there.

Good thing from Al Khor, It has a Hospital, Super Markets (Like 4) and all type of service. (Qtel, Laundry, Fast Food Restaurants, Fire Fighters, Police)

The Venezuelan Sensation!!!
