Driving to Dubai

I want to go to Dubai with my daughter and her friend by car. How can we accomplish that since we obviously can't drive in Saudi? Can we use a driver or are we required to be with a family "guardian"? Any recommendations? This is supposed to be a girls trip so I really don't want to drag along my husband.

As far as I understand this is forbidden in Ami Land - saw that on TV.

I had the chance to talk to my ol' man last night and he confirmed that ladies have to be accompanied by a family guardian in Saudi. So I guess it's off to the Qatar Airways website. Cherrio!

We are also planning to travel by car to UAE in Eid. So I want to learn whether female tourists have to wear abaya or hijab in Saudi Arabia, while transit to UAE? Naturally I am not veiled, but to be respectful and to abide by the rules, I will. Or may be only headscarf will be enough I think.

Do you have any idea? Thanks.

it will be quite hard...coz what I knew, it's not allowed for ladies to drive in Saudi wherein u have to cross this b4 reaching Dubai. And other thing, the person whom was the car is registered should be on the trip as well. Please, advise me as well what are the details for applying the visa to Emirates. We have residence visa here but what I knew it's not that easy even.

I know in the UK you can get an inflatable man to sit in the passenger seat to look like you are accompanied. You may be able to rig something up.
