Shipping a Car from UAE to Qatar

Han anyone shipped a car to Qatar from the UAE ? Any tricks, recommendations ??
Will want to take my 2006 4x4 with me for immediate mobility.
Also, whats the Driver's licence rules there. I am an Australian with an Oz and UAE DL. Can they get converted in Qatar ???

Hello everyone, I'm planning to buy a used car in Dubai ang brign it here to Qatar. How much it will cost to ahve it shipped via road trailer with container or with sea freight?
I relcoated to doha a couple of months back form dubai. I was able to transfer my uae driving license by paying a fees of 155 qr.U'll have to do an eyetest though..
The traffic department in qatar is no different than the fish market in dubai. U'll find ladies dressed as ninjas in the front desk who are lazy and speak only arabic!!

even qatar license if they take to dubai i belive you still have to redo the road test again, these people change rules everyday.
I surprise why Dubai License not valid here in Qatar?. AFAIK, GCC License is transferable.
5% tax is dependant.
You can always just drive your car to Qatar instead of shipping it over. But if you want to save on mileage, yes Qatar Airways Cargo is the best way to go.
As for converting your license, it should be quite easy, however you MAY have to redo the driving test.
You WILL have to have an eye test stamped along with some photos in Qatar.
You can do this at any authorized opticians.

Hey, check with Qatar Airways Cargo in Dubai. I know they move cars.
They might be able to offer a quick solution to move your car to Qatar.
With regard to driving licence, I think its better you check with a car rental agency like Europcar/Hertz etc. Or its better if you check with the authorities when you come to Doha.
Yes..u can import..contact cargo agencies in dubai...u will be charged for the container and transportaion by them...
and in Qatar i guess u gotta pay 5 percent as tax..
