Hi,

Is it possible to get an apartement, have a bank account or buy a car if i don't have a work permit?? if not, how do you do to live during this period, i read in the forum that it can take 2-3&+ months to have it.

Thanks

Commercial Bank.. (and may be it depends on the company. If you work for very respectable big strong company, bank might accept it)...oter banks are asking for RP first. But again, it's not an issue. even if teteaclaques will have to stay one month without a bank acount , what's wrong with that? hundreds of millions people in the world don't have any bank accounts, and - guess what - still aive! THere is no reason to worry about it so much

I have to disagree qatarisun, I opened a bank account my first week here, no RP, but just a letter from my employer. Perhaps it depends on the bankk, but you do not need RP with Commercial Bank, just the employer letter.

As for the rest, yes you need the RP, but it's not so bad.

you will need a RP. To exchange you driver license you will need a RP. to get your medical insurance your will need RP. To buy the car your will need RP. Just push your company to get your RP as soon as possible, and that's all you can do. No one in the world has died for not having a bank account yet... you can manage it for 1-2 months very easy.

accommodation - of course you will get one.. aren't you really going to live in the street...

To get a apartment not a problem, to open a bank account a company letter would suffice with a copy of your passport but to get a loan to buy a car you will need a RP

I would rather have one rose and a kind word from a friend while I'm here

Than a whole truck load when I'm gone
