HAIR LOSS - need help :(

Hey everyone so here is my issue. ive been in Doha for about 2 months now and my HAIR WON'T STOP FALLING OUT! every time i run my fingers, a comb or a brush through my hair i see masses of my hair falling out. It breaks my heart to see my healthy hair just disappearing! if i don't resolve this issue now i will soon go bald - NO JOKES. Is anyone experiencing the same problem? I've heard this is a common problem in Doha and I've even heard someone saying they use bottled (mineral) water to wash their hair. I have been trying almost a new shampoo and a conditioner every week but the results are the same. I am a very healthy and a fit person. I don't have any medical or genetic condition, neither have I had any crash diets, emotional stress or surgeries. Can someone please tell me how to treat hair loss in Doha and if its just me or is anyone else (guys and girls) going through the same problem. Your help would be much appreciated. SAVE ME FROM GOING BALD! Thank you Sincerely, A helpless soon-to-be bald **tear**

EDIT: While hair loss can be due to different reasons or a combination of factors, it is important to know that there are treatments out there that can help prevent it. You can consult a healthcare professional (a dermatologist in this case) for a thorough examination and appropriate treatment.

Dear brother,

something i need to tell you. first of all my english is poor. so please try to understand what i am going to tell. if you see me, you will got to know you don't have any problem. getting bald is not really the problem. the problem is your fear. i already went through all these situation. i tried all the medicines, even injections on my scalp, nothing give me a smile. now this is almost 3 years. now i feel the reality. the reality is not cruel, but we think like that. look on to the famous celebrities like vin diesal, jason sathm, the Rock, nobody has hair,. still they are our hero's. men's don't need hair buddy.. be strong.. be healthy..try onion juice on your scalp before bath...sit for half an hour with that then bath with filtered luke water..try yoga to reduce stress on the morning..try to sit alone and have some breathing excercises..drink plenty of water...more than enough..if your hair really wants to come back...

A lot of men and women suffer from hair loss because of many reasons. Some have hair loss because of genes while others suffer from hair loss because of stress. Fortunately today, there are many hair loss treatments and products available.

Hey Rougestar,

wipe away those tears, I may have a solution for you.

I have now been in Doha for approximately 4 months. At 2 months, I began noticing the hair loss. My husband's colleague recommended Leonards Beauty Saloon (near Jarir Book Store on Salwa Rd). I'm not great with explaining directions but if you call them, I'm sure they can tell you the way - 44372985. So, I went there and asked for Gilda. Gilda assessed my hair! It's the first time that a hair dresser in Doha has ever taken the time to actually check the texture of my hair to tell me what I exactly needed.

Gilda recommended a Hot Oil Treatment. Her fingers were like magic (she massaged my head). The atmosphere was relaxing, the treatment went well and I left the salon with soft hair. Later that week, I realized that the hair loss was noticeably less. So the treatment was a success. She recommended that I come back for a treatment every 2 weeks or I could buy the product and do it at home... I opted to return to Leonards. I loved the treatment, loved the staff and I loved the whole experience. Thanks Jincy for the recommendation!!

The water we get here in Qatar is sea water as the number of wells and ground water is less. Sea water is taken and purified with a process called Desalination which separates salt and minerals from water and then chemically treated and supplied but in some areas chemicals are dozed in again, so the houses near by the dozing plant will have high content of chemicals esp chlorine and all know chlorine is super bad for hair. so use a carbon filter which removes chlorine and other chemicals from water.

Some tips that i can give

* Fix a carbon filter or wash hair with a cup of pure mineral drinking water after bath

* never take bath in HOT water

* protect ur hair from direct SUN

* also eat fruits and vegetables

* have a balance diet

If you're considering taking (Finasteride rogaine minoxidile propecia)for hair loss, DON'T. Read the member stories, blood tests and STUDIES on Propeciahelp.com about the dangers of this drug.

There are many men now experiencing secondary hypogonadism and early Male Andropause (low testosterone/DHT, high Estrogens, low LH/FSH) as a result of usage, and side effects did NOT resolve after quitting.

Many men have been left with decreased semen volume, shrunken penis/nuts, impotence, Peyronie's Disease (crooked penis), decreased mental capacity and total loss of sex drive, to name but a few. Side effects of this drug are very real and can be dangerous for those that get them, as for the most part they seem to be IRREVERSIBLE and PERMANENT.

Male Andropause, a condition usually seen in men aged 50+, is now affecting young men in their 20s thanks to this drug.

i have suffered from hair loss for years and it is hereditary in my familly, i went to the UK and this dermatologist advised me to take vitamin B supplement as a brewers yeast it is natural and it cost 5$ and she recommanded {thicker hair} from ukhairsolutions.com, it is a gel that youapply once to twice a week, after few weeks my hair stoped falling and few months later thicker and healthier hair was growing back, do not believe the products that tell you to grow your hair in 30 days, as this is simply not possible due to the hair growth cycle, believe i tried more than 10 dermatologist and none could give me a good treatment, and even the one in the UK could not say why i was losing my hair, she just knew wich treatments are efficent. have a look at their website ukhairsolutions.com and read reviews about it, it seems to work for a lot of people

Guys dont waste time and money before its too lat. If you keep trying all the shampoo and lotions you loose time and your MPB ( Male Pattern Baldness ) conquer you before you control them.

Read this article to understand the process of hair cycle. Most of us suffer from MPB if your are around 30s

There are many reasons for Hair lose. First find out if your problem has to do with some sort of health issue or not.

Massage your hair with your choice of nutrient oil. Like coconut, olives, etc.. Do this one hour before you take a shower. This improves the blood circulation and the nutrients in the oil acts as a conditioner and prevents premature graying.

Wash your hair carefully and make sure that you don't have any Dandruff.

After you have dried your hair completely, use Minoxidil solution. But do not exceed the dosage.

Have a lot of patience. First the hair loss has to stop, then if your follicle, hair root, is still active it will regrow. But it will take time. So have patience.

from outside u can only condition the hair to look it better for a while and it might effect a little.. but the real treatment cant be done with shampoos or oils..

1. Buy Sevenseas pure cod liver oil capsules for daily use

2. Use other vitamins containing Biotin.. that is especially made for hair.. i guess permea plus ppl have these tablets

3. keep ur hair short and have a regular haircut

4. Use black strap molasses for iron/zinc deficiencies in case u have

5. use a mild shampoo daily.. not the one that r advertised everyday.. its the sign of weaker products.. i would recommend Flora or u can find lot of mild shampoos in Japanese products.. or even garnier is ok for daily use.

6. the most important thing is to have a balanced and pure diet..fruits/veges and meat.. in meat prefer liver meat.. its better for hair growth.. eat egg yolk.. its very good for hair/skin.. eat all types of fruits regularly.. choose only green salad as a meal once or twice a week.. prefer it with olives

avoid any food that is too much processed..

7. as everyone said exercise daily.. keeping all the above ingredients in ur body will help but to make sure it flows well all over ur body is exercising/yoga etc.

8. work hard but only during the office timings.. give a f.. to ur boss and job once ure out of the office.. it will release stress n u will be back to normal life

9. At the end use chicken korma, curry, rice/sambar or extra virgin olive oil :) wateva for a healthy and shiny look.. avoid gel/wax.. even if u use it wash it as soon as u reach home.. keeping ur scalp dirty can effect ur hair

You can do something about it, REALLY.

I assure you that you can halt your hair loss. :)

Hair loss is caused by a lack of blood circulation to the scalp, and many many factors are involved (stress above all).

After about two years of searching throught the web and finding only scam artists selling ebooks with fake solutions, I found the ONLY site that is genuine and works, it teaches you how to exercise in order to increase the blood flow to your scalp and halt your hair loss for ever. :)

This is not a scam, I would never cheat on somebody who is facing the same issues that I had.

Losing hair is hard enough without being ripped off...

It also has videos that are really powerful and speak for themselves.

This is the ONLY genuine site on the web, I'm not kidding.

I experienced this for myself.

Here's the link:

Let me know once you tried the technique,

1-Nutrition

Some Multivitamin that has most of these

# Vitamin B-complex

# Vitamin B-6

# Vitamin C

# Vitamin E

# Beta-Carotene

# magnesium, sulfur, zinc

# Silica

# Nettle

# Flaxseed oil

2-exercise

Cardio is good and it is important to sweat my friend as it releases stress from your body.

3- Get Rogaine or Regaine ( whichever you find in Pharmacy ) minoxidil is the only active ingredient that actually helps regrow hair...

4- do not waste yoru cash on snake oils and stupid things they market.. Nothing works like Rogaine trust me.

Also, visit a good doctor in case it is something that has to do with your glands...

hope that helps.

I too agree that Permea Plus can be a good remedy to reduce hair fall. The main problem in this country is the water. It is desalinated using chlorine, which isnt good for the hair. People had suggested to use the bottled/mineral water to wash hair. Any one who has found any difference using the bottled water compared to the normal tap water? I was reading the contents of the bottle, and it mentions "Chloride" which is somewhat related to Chlorine (I guess!!). Any comments here?

Thanks.

4. Final rinse to use mineral water, to avoid residue/build-up of desal water

I am seeing people across GCC are having hairloss due to water. Here in GCC, they use desalinated water (processed sea water). In desalination process, they add Cholrine to kill the bacteria and add lime soda to subside the Chlorine effect. But the adverse effect is Chlorine breaks the protein bind of the hair and calcium sediments in the scalp, inhibits transporation of nutrition to the hair shaft. Thus this desalinated water makes the hair brittle and hair fall.

Try using PERMEA PLUS ANTI-SAL SHAMPOO and PERMEA PLUS ANTI-SAL CONDITIONER. This product is specially prepared for desalinated water related hair loss. PERMEA PLUS ANTI-SAL SHAMPOO gently removes the mineral deposition and PERMEA PLUS ANTI-SAL CONDITIONER offers extreme moisturizer for the hair. I am using this PERMEA PLUS Shampoo and Conditioner for last 8 months. I see great difference, hairloss has been curtailed.

Try using PERMEA PLUS PRODUCT and benefit from it.

Thank you

Everybody has different problems. My problem is my hair is very strong and its getting curly when it gets longer.

On the other hand all of us have the same problem from my country. Its about food and air quality I think. The skin becomes dull and gets a color like brown/black here. You can easily realize a person who just comes back from vacation. Of course stress and pressure on work is another cause but people coming from vacation have shiny reddish, lively skin :).

Hair fall and hair loss ......... Men and women were having this problem here... I myself also experienced this...... U can use shampoos promoting hair growth like Foltene. Put some oil once a week (chlorine makes our hair dry and stiff which causes breakage)... Then most important, as highly recommended, take vitamins for hair like Nature plus Ultra hair... It will strengthen your hair from it's roots... Hope this will help. :) MyHotComments +

Chlorine is bad for the hair, on TV in America they suggested using a charcoil filter in your shower head, as chlorine is bad for us to absorb as well, but doubt we could find a filter here. My husband put in a filter in our main water unit. Also, I have been using a vitamin called KELP. I have an 80 year old friend and she has so much hair it looked like a wig. She told me a Japanese friend told her years ago to use kelp. So I take one a day and haven't had hair falling in fact I think its gotten thicker. The only drawback I have not seen Kelp here, mabye GNC can order it. Good luck.

I'm reading this and have NO problem with losing hair apart from a bit of MPB, but then I am 45! I wash my hair daily with tap water and have since birth. I've never put oil in my hair. I've never suffered dandruff so can't comment on H+S shampoo, but I do use Pantene as I have for many years. I do try to avoid stressful situations though which is a proven contributor to hair loss (hence the saying, "Don't pull your hair out")

Okarim, as per my earlier post. there's nothing wrong with the water.

1>Apply Dhatri hair oil in the morning 1/2 an hour before you take a shower.

2>Take shower in normal temperature water after applying shampoo.

3>Head and shoulder's anti-dandruff really works well to remove dandruff. There was a better one called cholesterol shampoo available a few years ago but due to some reason banned in Doha. Maybe it was Danish or Jewish product. Anyways, take a good shower after applying the shampoo and remember to let the shampoo stay on your hair for a minimum of 2 minutes before you wash it away.

4>Use a light weight towel to pat your hair dry and don't ever use a hair dryer.

5>Make sure the comb you use is cleaned properly before you use it because sometimes there is dandruff on it can infect again. Better to throw away the old one and use a new one.

Repeat this for 3 times in two weeks and you will see very good improvement. Try it please

Dhatri hair oil is available in FFC or any other Indian Hypermarkets. Very affordable.

ok guys.. i use following:

1. Wash my head daily with mineral water

2. use head & shoulders 3-4 times , to avoid dandruff

3. oil my head once a week

Still hair are falling like leaves in autumn season, though lesser than before ..

I feel it strange that some people i meet , in their mid 30s still have very thick hair, and when i ask them , all i get is some general answers . Is there someone reading this thread , NOT having a hairfall problem , who can pls share secrets with us ..

If they can , remember good deeds are rewarded well..

buy hair loss shampoo in the pharmacy around QR100-200 riyals. if you get irritated, better pay a visit to the doctor. and yeah, like baldrick, go to a barber shop. the longer the hair the more hair fall.

cheers,

I've said it before, I'll say it again ... show me some scientific proof regarding the water and I'll believe you. The water is fine - 2 atoms of hydrogen bonded to one of oxygen - can't go wrong with that! I had analysis done of Kharama's water and it's great.

Most probable cause - stress.

Best solution, get a haircut like mine - #2 :o)

charan very funny...

rougestar , ok so try to mix 1 spoon of castor oil and 2 spoon of olive oil and massage every 2nd day on scalp. let it on ead for 2 hrs and then wash it out.. you can get castor oil in any supermarket carrefoure lulu etc.

it works with me..

however th water of qatar is very salty it might not suits u that might be one reason of ur hair fall...

By anonymous• 25 Nov 2008 14:26

Too many cause behind Hair Fall.... and too many remediese... The fact is bitter... You can control it but can't stop.

Cause:

1. Dandruff

2. Environment Change

3. Diet/ Nutrients

4. Using Shampo on regurler basis

5. etc

Remedies:

1. Always put oil before doing shampo it will protect the skin from harming shampos

2. Put Olive Oil and massage gently with your finger tips in cirlces. This is basicly to start blood flow under the skin.

3. Go for Hair cut (monthly) It's not a big remedy but sometimes it works.

4. Use Johnson baby shampo only.

5. Do some exercise daily.

6. Last option is Consult a doctor. But there you will have to be patience coz if you will leave medication in between it will no longer provide you benefits but loss.

i agree with samyauk, if you never had problems with hair falling prior to coming to qatar, its the water. This happened to me and since i started using bottled water to wash my hair, the problem has stopped. Doesnt matter what type of oil you use, it wont help if the problem is with the water.

Try Ayurvedic Hair oil named "ANOOP" ...itz available

in FFC and Lulu.....!!!

This is an Ayurvedic, purely herbal oil. Although it is called an oil, it is not oily. This oil should not be mixed with any other. Also the manner of application is to massage it gently, with a few drops at a time , all over the scalp. But first, you have to moisten your scalp and hair. This is very important. You can wash it off with a shampoo after 1 or 2 hours. There might be fake copy of this oil sold in the market. You have to ascertain the authenticity of the oil by checking the base of the bottle for the embossed logo ’’Anoop’’ .

There is this hair oil that they sell in the supermarkets which works wonders. Its castor oil (zayt kharwaa). Other oils that are just as good are called Vatika and Amla. Apply the oil to the hair emphasising on the roots by massaging it in. Leave in and wrap hair in a towel for at least 2 hours then wash hair as normal.

You can also use this oil on eyebrows if you find that they are thinning. On eyebrows, leave oil on overnight and wash off in the morning.

first go to the doctor and get some bloodwork done..mainly a thyroid test. The local doctors can tell you a lot of what is going on with you since they deal with local problems all the time. IF you have a low thyroid level its a simple medication that will help...but, there are other reasons for hair loss also...stress, diet, environmental factors, medications, etc...Be sure you deep condition your hair at least once a week to help strengthen it, take multivitamins and massage your scalp to increase blood flow to the follicles. Don't over stress your hair by pulling it with a brush or comb...brush lightly...

Hope this helps..but please, get it checked out..
