ASPIRE Academy to hold 'rookie boarding'
ASPIRE Academy’s Rookie Boarding from November 1 to 3:
ASPIRE Academy is making a unique effort this week at the Diplomatic club, coinciding with the World Wakeboarding Championships happening in the country. The Sports Academy will give a chance to the children of Qatar to feel the exhilarating thrill of wakeboarding with the help of professional wake-boarders.
‘Rookie boarding’ is an event where the nation’s young residents will be able to experience first-hand the excitement of gliding over the waters of the Arabian Gulf.
Rookie boarding is a simplified and safe version of water skiing aimed at encouraging the sport’s newcomers. Pupils from local schools have been invited to take to the seas at the Diplomatic Club on Thursday, 1st November under the expert supervision of a team led by Patrice Martin, who has won the world water ski title an astonishing 12 times.
During the following two days, the sessions will be open for other young people to give the sport a try and gain confidence on the water.
The event forms part of the Academy’s extensive community activities, which aim to encourage healthy living among local society as a whole.
As a memento of their day those taking part will receive a certificate and t-shirt from their renowned instructors.
TIMINGS: Thursday 1st November, between 10am and 2pm.
Friday, November 2, between 1pm and 5pm.
