Hello Everyone!
I´m new in this forum and i shortly got an Job Offer by an company in Doha.

Basic Salary: 4.600,- Qrs
Housing Allowance: 1.100,- Qrs or company single accomodation
Transport Allowance: 450,- Qrs

As i live in Europe and am Austrian National have been working here for the last 10 years. I have a Bacherlors Degree from an University in UK, i´m single and about 8 years Job experice in differet international weel-known companies and organisations. I have absolutley no idea if it would be a good choice to accept this offer as a single person. I´m also thinking about having a car and doing a little saving.
At the moment i´m employed in Vienna, Austria and earn almost the same as the above total mentioned package in sum.
So i really would appreciate if anyone would kindly give me some suggetions or tipps as far (as far as the salaries are concerned). I have about 1 week to decide whether i accept this job or not.

Thanks so much in advance.

Hi dawood,

Agree with others, the offer is too low and position too junior for your qualification & experiences. Don't consider it.

I would not suggest negotiate on this particular post as it is 'within the range'. I know one grade 6 from S'pore getting QR6000, how could you ask for more? Instead, you should ask them if they have any office position matching your qualification & experiences. They have a shortage of staff so I believe they will consider this option.

I have been offered 6000per month and free housing, return flights for lab technician in the school. Yours 4600 sounds terrible...I am still wondering if mine is good enough....my husband been offered 8900 per month and house, flights,as a teacher, and we think it's stinks....

Looks like you are not well paid in Austria either because if the above offer meets your salary in Austria 1,122.49 EUR and Vienna is not a cheap town to live in, how can you manage your life there.

Monthly food bill ca. QR 1000

Monthly car installment QR 800 upwards

Sharing accommodation QR 3500 upwards

Cinema, Restaurant etc. QR 300 upwards

Mobile phone QR 200 upwards

Total QR 5800

What do you want to save - you will most probably end up in debt.

Many good jobs depend upon your qualifications and although you may have experience they may not feel that your qualifications are enough.

Nationality wise, you should be getting higher than the initial offer you got...do note that salary range here in Qatar (& in some other countries) vary depending on the nationality (basically, salary depends on the cost of living from your country of origin). hence, i would suggest you try checking the cost of living in qatar & weigh what you will get from what you need to spend.

Not even if i would get an free accomodation from the company, which i guess should be a single room in a shared building with other co-workers? I think saving money is comlpetely out of the question. Surviving (maybe).

Well i know that salaries are not very high in this field but i´ll try to re-negotiate because that offer is really unreasonable. Isn´t it?

With your experience and nationality(sad to say), you should be getting triple there offer. I'd say more like 10,000QR,min., a month, plus paid living.

Shoot for the stars and you just may reach the moon.

Hi AAK, Thanks for your reply,

Well i was just thinking the same, the question is; if renegotiate in what range should i ask for so that a reasonable living-standard can be achieved in Doha?

Throw it back.. This is not a good offer for a graduate and a person with 8 years of experience...

It is better to renegotiate than to come here and suffer...

Hi Stealth, well at Doha Airport in Qatar Airways - Ground Staff Department, Grade 4, as Senior Airort Service Agent

What do you think? I think i should be asking for more, since i unfortunatly didn´t negotiate my salary during the job interview, would it be ok in your opinion to do that now after receiving the offer??

what is the position offered? This looks more like an entry level offer
