Peace in the world

By starseed

Just a very idealist thought/question:

Do you think that we will ever have peace in the world? And if so, how? What do you think we, or various govts, need to do differently?

Not looking for arguments here - hopefully just a friendly debate...

.. and if we would all just accept and respect that we are different, have our different beliefs, customs, cultures, religions, etc. and see that we are all a mixed box of smarties, together we make the world so colourful, bright and interesting.. things might changing for the better.

Yes many are doing good in the world - this is so uplifting to see and hear of - it's the govts and their greed which seems to be our downfall... Unacceptance and disrespect of another's religion also a factor..

Yes unfortunately very true but as we are all humans we act and decide in the same way we have grow up, this is a crises that started thousands of years ago and probably just for plain survival.

But there is another problem...that's the limited resources on our planet....which makes it a zero sum game....the more some have, the less others will have (by default)...therefore until we learn to share (put need before greed)...no longer use man made concepts to drive a wedge between us (like nationalities and religions), and stop allowing the driving force of our existence be the accumulation of material things we cannot take with us when we die.....then we are destined to clash. The argument can be made that the crusades was morepolitically motivated than religious....but that doesn't make them any more excusable.

Perhaps one day we will grow out of it as a species.....I sure hope so!

Stay safe all.

i know that there r millions of ppl who think muslims r cruel and terrorist (may b there r some but not all of us)

Our prophet once said that " U ACN'T SPREAD ISLAM WITH THE FORCE OF SWORD, IT CAN ONLY SPREAD WITH LOVE AND KINDNESS"

no one can forced to change thier beliefs and religions.

Well this will never happen in our lifetime I am sure but without dreams and belief we would never manage to survive.

It is not the every day man/woman who are against the religeon of another it is these people who think they have to change everyone and make everyone a follower. Take the crusades as an example.

I have live with Muslims over many years now and not one of them pushed me or asked me if I want ot be a Muslim and I have visited many organisations and other things with them. Never benn in a crusade though.

When enter the other man's garden to steal his flowers when there is a field full of free flowers.

Human nature is just pre destined to kill, and rob, and wnat to change others unfortunately.

You see your average man/woman are not really interested in politics and just want to get on with their lives and have that running smoothly and happily with their families,

It's the Governments that do all the bickering under one another, an interesting topic I heard recently was how would it be if the whole of the Middle East and all the countries which the Americans have meddled in would rise up and go against America.

Another point to prove the average man/woman how many pupil exchange programmes are going on around the world nowadays to give an insight to foreign countries and lives - a great many. This is a much better kind of politic than having wars, don't you think.

Then how would it be if the world was free of passports and everyone could travel as they want to whichever country they want?

A very interesting topic I find!

caste and creed its good point but borders i think it will never happen some countries r u cruel tht despite having a huge land always tries to conquer other country's land.

don't they?

Imho, IF mankind did away with religion, nationality, and the obsession with materialistic things....IF we all learned to share and that we are all alike...then MAYBE....until then its just a pipe dream i'm affraid =(
