How many of the American athletes are dope cheats?

NOw that Marion Jones has admitted she was a cheat, I wonder how many other American athletes are in the same field.
ITs surprising that when the chinese swimmers were caught doping there was a huge outcry. Now that Americans are themselves involved it has been kind of muted. Many other athletes have also come under the cloud.

that is what all athletes tell when caught.

See the doping case in Tour De France. the blame there was on the doctors.

whatever, I feel it's a shame athletes feel almost obliged to follow their trainers without question, which seems to be what Jones is saying she did.

I mean, by Jove! It just isn't cricket, is it! :D

Jauntie that matter is different. Did she have a sex-change?

Was itbecause of her taking performance enhancing drugs or

was it a problem with her genes. That has never been found out.

Probably many of them. It's because the Head Idiot told the athletes that they needed to win at all costs to be patriotic. As Kurt Vonnegut observed in A Man Without a Country, waving flags apparantly keeps Al Qaeda away. God bless you, Kurt Vonnegut.

The death of Jackie Joyner Kersie due to a massive heart attack is also suspected to because of the drugs.

The Americans have been very good at masking the drugs.

Much better than the Russians even.

Kenteris & Thanou were disqualified for missing the doping test, and I think this is right, no matter is it's a set-up!

It would have been fair though if Jones and Greene had ALSO appeared for the doping test before their races in the 2004 Olympics! They never turned up!

Thanou has been on substances for more than 7 years, because she sounds like a bloke!

Anyhow, I sort of expected that such article would appear quite quickly on Murdoch's press!

From around 2000 and until July 2004, Murdoch-owned media were constantly predicting humiliation of Greece and even postponing the 2004 Olympics due to delays in works related to the Contest (I avoid using the word ''Games'' for the Olympics, it's quite an inadequate term for the event).

The reason for that was to promote Australians and not Greeks to providing the Chinese with the know-how for organising the next Olympics in Beijing.

Controversial Greek may win prize medal by default

In a bizarre subplot to the Marion Jones saga, one of the chief beneficiaries of her lies is likely to be an athlete awaiting a trial for perjury arising from the scandal that rocked the 2004 Olympics.

If Jones is stripped of her medals, then by the normal process of reallocating them, the gold for the 100 metres will go to Ekaterina Thanou. The Greek sprinter was runner-up in Sydney but missed the Athens Olympics after a mysterious motorcycle accident caused her and a teammate, Konstantinos Kenteris, to miss an eve-of-competition dope test.

Where's Mr. M. Greene when called for anti-doping control before a race?

The answer is: never available, never at the Olympic Village / Athletes' accommodation!
