Country
United Arab Emirates
SORRY , DON'T MEAN TO HURT ANYONE. Please understand by point.
due to fasting, quarter pounder is not sufficient. Opt for Super Star. Opps is that Hardees
I admit. The nice thing is when we google Heard & McDonald Islands, we get one place. But when we google Lebanon, one would get dizzy trying to figure our where is that place; Pennsylvania or the Middle East. Now the most funny thing if you decide it is in the Middle East, you can hardly notice it on the map :D
boogers go to boogie heaven when you flick them away.

Gypo, tell us something we don't already know.
Nice play with words. Do you keep your quarter pounder under your kilt?
*slaps own wrists and leaves the forum*
Being from an island with a name like that is way cooler than being Lebanese :P
Besides, it forces people to actually google it and realize that it's an uninhabited island mwahaha *evil laugh*
I'm not really Canadian. I'm from Mars. I just don't want to scare people.

I did not heard about McDonald Islands. Just heard about McDonald sausages and burgers
Well at least you were a little bit creative ... I see you are still from "Heard and McDonald Islands".
Have to admit that had me really fooled for a while :P
Why don't people put out their actual nationalities ? simple...because they don't want to :P
The diference is that C.S. cafes (the ones where ''S'' stands for shisha) can be operating legally!
I decided I couldn't possibly post what I just typed (i.e. my interpretation of what Cyber S. is) so I deleted it :P
Apologies for the late reply, but I've been working during iftar hours as a tea boy. No if you excuse me, I'm off to work again!
P.S.: I work at a C.S. (Cyber Shisha) cafe.
but, man, of all the careers I had to pick ... had to be the ONE that would fail in Qatar. Nobody wears lace-up shoes here, all I see is sandals, sandals, sandals. What's a shoe-lacer to do? (I also have a master's in umbrella opening, but realized early on that that would do me little good here ... the raindrops are few and far between.)
SuperXpat ... any openings in your company for tea kettle polishers? I did that as a student job once, think it was the summer of 1903 (I'm actually 123 years old, not sure if that's listed on my profile).
may be its a home business
If you can't change your fate, change your attitude.
at a computer all day, posting willy-nilly on a website, if you are a teaboy?..... and besides TV's... I haven't seen any computers at Sheesha cafes....;-)
U can take it as you feel.
A joke or or serious.. how does it matter. Its my reply to Angelo.
you say :
" Not mentioning your actual country could be because of two reasons
1. Ashamed of his/ her nationality.
2. Do not understand english much. "
what is that? a jok???... lol...
U are getting technical here about alcoholic.
i meant there aren't much (any) choices in this country to enjoy and windup urrself with a few drinks.
Ur evening one peg or two is conrolled by the govt. some day they might even control as to how many times u gonna go to loo in a day.
hahahahahaha........
Trust me, you wouldn't love to be an alcoholic (I've never been one myself, but I've seen a few unfortunate cases).
Besides, being a shishaholic is cheaper!
We can only be a sheshaholic in Doha. Alcoholic is not allowed. Would love to be an alcoholic than a sheshaholic
atlast..friendraj...you made that clarified..:D and coming from you..hehehehehe..

Good point FriendRaj.
raj s ae ki gal hui .chawal hi mar diti ae
I used to work at a shisha joint, but I was fired because I had the bad habit of smoking customers' shishas (I'm a shishaholic!)
TO WHOMSOEVER IT MAY CONCERN :::: it is to say only COUNTRY and not be say NATIONALITY. you to be make own ideas.
:P
(1) I trashed company's tea trolley because of reckless driving!
(2) Oryx, how do you know about my true nationality? I'm sooo embarassed now! I even have fake Greek passport, driving licence and obtained a Greek VAT reg. No just to pass as a Greek!
(3) I refuse to put sugar in people's tea, because I'm into healthy eating!
Reminds me of something Billy Connelly once said:
I defy any man left alone in a room with a tea cosy NOT to try it on.
Well said. than what kinda tea boy is he ????
Must be a very innovative boy to make tea without any of the your mentioned things.

He isn't a tea boy because:
a) he has no kettle
b) he has no tea pot
c) he has no real tea
d) he has no strainer
e) he has no tea cosy
It is just an aspiration from a humble albanian peasant alas....
Maybe jauntie and I will have a chrimbo whip round to try and help him...
I will knit a cosy and a matching bobble hat in Albanian national colours
Xpat is not disclosing the joint where we can a get a cup of tea. We all can start meeting there.
or if he's particularly hard up :D
But don't quote me on that - it may just be a rumour ..
Thanks dear,
I am with you. Why should we not believe Xpat not being a tea boy. Duz he work in a sheesha joint ???
and don't forget the biscuits!! :P
skdkak: Xpats profile says he is employed as an asst. tea boy - we believe him too!
that is because you are a cleaner after a promotion ......
just come to terms with the fact that you will always be a cleaner and never a tea boy or a filing clerk.
Neither are you greek you are albanian.....
when filling in applications on the internet for, say, erm ... to subscribe to an on-line magazine? or something like that, more often than not there is a box to tick for 'Country'. NOT Nationality. Same applies to a boxes to tick for 'age' and 'gender'.
I suspect it's more to do with Market Research, for instance so's they know what spam e-mail would be appropriate to send you, assuming you have ticked the box to receive such stuff.
Maybe Qatari simply used a programme which was made up that same way?
did i miss anything. Where did tea boy and sugar come in Nationality forum
I'm not really an assistant tea boy, I don't know how to make a good tea, and I think I don't have such a good memory to remember how much tea or sugar I'd be asked to add!
looking at the earth from space I don't see any border lines as shown on maps, therefore I can put 'earthling' as my nationality if I so choose... :) - or should I say 'internationality'
Sheesh. This is an on-line forum; while it may be a place to meet friends, for others it is simply a place to vent, share ideas, get information, etc. Sometimes it's nice to be able to do so (respectfully) in relative anonymity. Not everyone wants to be best buddies and share all their most personal details with all QLers.
I mean, come on, do you really think I'm a shoe lacer from Aruba? LOL!
Not mentioning your actual country could be because of two reasons
1. Ashamed of his/ her nationality.
2. Do not understand english much. Here i mean, person would actually translate the meaning of each word and end up in writing a completly different answer.
I like your dancing cat...lol...
Angelo.. for the same reason why they don’ t want to put their real names , exact age, place of work, salary, and other private things... does it matter in our case??? In Canada even in your CV you don’t have to indicate your nationality, age, religion, etc. Why we must do it here? No, if somebody wants –go ahead, why not?
I personally wouldn't like to announce my "nationality"..specially since I don't really identify myself this way anymore (let's say, somebody was born in one country, then in age of 2-3 moved with the parents to other country, and adopted the culture of this new country...)
... as for the "country", i have lived in so many of them... which one to choose for my QL profile? I have chosen Qatar.. anything wrong with that???
dont see why people are so bothered about it..as for me i too thought "country" means country of residence...it doesnt say "nationality" else i would have put mine. :)
It doesn't matter does it?
If you get worked up about whether 'country' on someone's discussion board profile means nationality or location, you need to sit down and have a nice cuppa.
probably as kelly said they forget or else they dont want to reveal themselves or else they arent proud of it and want to conceal it in order to maintain a double identity.
.do it right - the first time!
I have raised this issue long time ago. Guess many QLer get confused and think Country means Country of Residence.
That is why the guy who posted a thread - Road Rage & Malicious Fines - twice, mentions that he has been in the Country for 6 months and mentions "Country" as Qatar.
