There have been talks that during the last one year the facilities and the services at Doha Modern India School has really gone down...They only care about money....Increasing fees, trasport fees, taking out sibling discout etc... recruiting all teachers locally...
both me n kid are really happy with the school.my daughter is in kg 1,she love to go to school.i have no problem with transport too, got a good school bus with a/c working :) and a helper too.
Today in the Gulf Times, the Principal has tried to come clean on lots of issues and put the blame on the person who complained itself.. I also have an experience of talking to their staff, looks like they have developed an attitude of "if you dont like it, take your child some where else"
BTW, his letter in the GT reminds me of his long circulars which we sign every other day...
...You can't mean what you say unless you can say what you mean...
I have to agree here with regards to the School Bus Transportation System. It is extremely unprofessional in its approach so much so that three days ago my son had to wait out for a good forty five minutes to catch the bus. The reason given by the driver was that he had over slept.
So basically Mr. Sunny (School Proprietor based in Dubai) can only talk a lot of HOT AIR and then ensure to ask for the highest financial package from the parents; but in return making sure that the worst possible transportation is provided for the KIDS.
I agree with you Gypsy, despite of their claims about recruiting from India, I can only see familiar faces hired locally...
Shreeya, The school busses are a real mess.. particularly the tempo travellers... My kids come sweating daily ... and now they have done something new... the busses have the drivers only.. no helper.. before they had a driver and a helper.... Also, what is the use of keeping an arabic speaking driver for Indian Schools?
IS the new Supervisor, the principals wife?
BTW, Did you see the letters being published in the Gulf Times?

I don’t about the current situation, but I was not happy with the school from the beginning itself . My son was there in KG II 1st batch of the school. we were quite disappointed at the end of the year. He didn’t learn anything more than what he knew before. They first advertised that teachers are recruited from India. But most of the teachers are locally hired.
I think students are happy, because they don’t have much to study compared other schools. No exams till 3rd grade…no home works etc. It’s the most expensive Indian school in Doha but not worth the money. Now my boy is in DPS-MIS am very happy with the teaching and other extracurricular activates of the school.
My concern is about transport. We are paying the highest transport fees and the bus sucks....They are just providing a vehicle running on 4 wheels and call it a School bus!!! The tempo traveler in which my Son commutes daily, the a/c is still not working properly despite of several complaints. Also they are dumping more than 20 students in this bus, when the bus is designed only for 16 students at a time.
But I must admit that my son is quite happy with the school and especially for his class teacher....so no other issues.
