Qur'an Lessons for Children ??

Who picks up the language easily and fast..a 5 year old or a 15 year old? it is an established fact that children pick up the langauage very early even without knowing the meaning of the words...The aim is to make him or her perfect in recitation linguistically and phonetically , given the fact that arabic is not normally everybody's mother tongue

Well, as far as illustrated story books goes, we use these in addition to coloring books at home when discussing the stories of messengers, etc. found in the Qur'an. These are available at most bookstores and are geared towards children. Usually, there are different series for different ages. However, I am looking for classes that help children memorize verses (in addition to the encouragement and instruction given at home). Recitation and memorization of the Qur'an has its own phonological rules that are easier to learn as a children, as with many other linguistic skills. Regarding comprehension of such verses, this is not an easy matter for even an adult. However, this is also a goal with time.

she ask to know mach better our religion and its really trough that kids dosn't understand what you are talking about when you read Quran for them or any other religion book (bible), so you must really be good in explanation "as talking the story" that they will except and little bit understand.

a) the children learn to recite - but at 5 years old do the really know what they are reciting? does it make any sense to them?

b) do the children learn about the teachings of the Quran thru children's books with pictures? or is it only reciting?

It is part of our belief that even reciting the holy Quaran earns you virtue and it is part of the responsibility of the parents to teach your child to recite Quran.So the earlier the better.

Hope it explains a bit.

Please could someone explain to me why children so young are sent for Qu'ran lessons and what does a child of 5 learn in a Qu'ran lesson exactly?

where you live in Doha? I know one good lady she lives near to airport signals (al safeer centre) , but she doesn't go out from home .its mean y must bring your child to hear ,and also she teach only girls.

I think your best bet is to ask at your local masjid. I believe that is where most children go for Quran lessons. The imam there may also be able to direct you to private lessons for girls if none are offered at the masjid.
