Skype and ADSL

I've been quite unimpressed with the quality of my Skype Out calls lately. I haven't called Qtel and I don't expect them to be able/interested in helping anyway (it's not that I don't have Internet, it's just the quality). I'm currently subscribed at the 512Kbps rate.

My question: would upgrading to 1Mbps or 2Mbps improve my quality? Anyone have any experience with this?

In fact one of QTEL's representatives have claimed that they dont mind

people using VOIP. So what is the talk about going to

police.

Muhammed12 is correct when he says that stopping surfing or downloading whilst using SKYPE will help. I can always tell when my grandkids are surfing and talking to me at the same time. The quality does deteriorate.

I dont think ur quality would improve if u upgrade, bcoz VOIP normally uses 10 - 40kbps per second.Try stopping all background downloads, surfing and only do calling..the quality would improve. Moreover, all VOIP including the one ur using is all prohibited for use by QTEL.when i asked them what will be the action if they find out, they told me that they will inform the police abt the user.hope info was useful
