I am interested in anything from sports to theater. Is there any special place where this info is posted?

Doha Players every 3 or 4 months have production line up. Just keep an eye on the notice board at schools or around the shop after this summer finish.
Some embassy sponsoring Piano Recital / Violin and the likes now and again ... they usually advertise it on the paper.
Qatar Foundation also bringing in musician from abroad ... it usually sponsored by Shell.
Japanese embassy bring the japanese artist, for the past few yrs brought japanese drum team, Noh theatre and a japanese traditional music group. When they do that always come with free japanese nibbles after the show.
There are no special board for these events ... normally they are word of mouth between the expat community.

And last year there is an event 'Santa in the desert' for kiddies.
Once a year there is dunestock event, it is equivalent with woodstock in the UK.
