First time to East

By filippinyi

Dears, I am Hungarian and although traveled a lot, I have never been to East. Now my husband is considering to apply for a job in Qatar. We would like to get some information on life there, as we know nothing about it. In case he gets the job and we move there, will I have a chance to get a work too? From the forum I learned that women can work and drive there, but that life is expensive and very different for locals and expats. So main questions are: will I have work opportunities (I have language teacher and economist diploma)? How is social life? Are there theaters, movies, places to go out? How is the country? Can you safely travel, discover around? All info is welcome! Thanks, Eszter

Ekkora nyelvismerettel es vegzettseggel nem lesz gond a munkakeresessel! Vagyunk itt paran magyarok, kb. 100-an.

With the languages you speak and your profession, i don't think you will have trouble getting a job, but it may or may not be upto your expectations. Having said that Qatar is opening up in the Commercial sector and a lotta opportunities arise everyday.

We are a great expat community over here and QL binds us together... you will have no problem fitting in and making friends... Herne is also Hungarian i think... try getting in touch with her...

All in all... GOOD LUCK!!!

If there is anything we can help you with, feel free to give us a shout here on QL.

(I'll have my music blasting and won't hear... others will... lol!!!)
