For those who have never heard it until now go and listen to it and tell me if you like it. [Anthem starts about 1 and a half minutes into the video]
Personally I like it even though I can't understand Arabic. :-D
Here is the text of As Salam al Amiri - The National Anthem of Qatar [added by Qatari]:
Swearing by God who erected the sky
Swearing by God who spread the light
Qatar will always be free
Sublimed by the souls of the sinceres
Proceed thou on the manners of the ascendants
And advance on Prophet's guidance
In my heart,
Qatar is an epic of glory and dignity
Qatar is land of the early men
Who protect us at time of distress,
Doves they can be at times of peace,
Warriors they are at times of sacrifice.
Only Love & Respect of Others Make us Human.

it's very nice..even though i don't understand the words, but it's powerful..Bosnia is the only country in the world ( a fact ) that doesn't have words but only music , because politicians can't and wont agree to it.lucky you :)
ppl had doubt about Asian Games happening... not only did it happen, it was really wonderfully administered. So, i am sure, if the qatari ppl put their mind to it.... Olympics is not too far away.
the anthem is nice easy to appreciate even if you dont know the language.
i am hoping to be there in a few weeks time

It is such a coincidence that I added that too on youtube! When I watch it I think it's great and gives me a warm feeling.
All it took was the asian games to push the country into improvement overdrive. Now we need the olympics (as if that would happen)

That is why they ask for professional volunteers to sign in public and by tradition silence is mandated.
My favorite anthem is the UN anthem. The FROeGncYh anthem is too swampy. The British anthem is OK.

I watched that live during the games ... and thats the only time i watched them. Nice to listen to it again.
I wonder in a arabic school in Qatar do you have to sing that everytime? In Indonesia ... every Monday ... all school have to sing the national anthem before the lesson start.
