Husband is coming to town this Saturday Night

Hi all,

My husband is coming into Doha this Saturday night. Is there anything happening that night?

He will also have 1/half day Sunday and all day Monday to look around. Is there a rental agent you know that is really good that could show him around?

What would be the most important thing he should do while there that would help us decide to move there?

Thanks for all of your advice you have given already...this site has been a true blessing to us!

No we don't need turn off people.

Just informed them properly and be political correct about it.

It does NOT sound as USAJojo is here in Doha ...

UsaJojo, try to contact Apollo and/or Mirage properties, here are their web pages:

maybe they can show your husband a few places.

Hi there,

From your post it's hard to tell if you are already in Doha and waiting for your husband or if your husband will be making the trip without you to look around Doha and make a decision about taking a job.

In any event, your husband's employer should be providing housing or a very generous housing allowance because housing here compared to the US is outrageously expensive. More than any mortgage, let along rent, I have ever seen so that is the first thing to consider. Can you afford to live here? If you do have a generous allowance then your husband should ask his prospective employer to have someone show him around or suggest a reputable agent to show him as there are many stories on this forum about disreputable realestate agents. Also, if at all possible, see if he can negotiate regular increases in the allowance as rents are allowed to go up a maximum of the 10% a year I believe.

Good Luck.

Common now. We don't need to always turn people off do we?

Anyway, I think there are quite a few tour guide companies.

Hey Coco,

Your reply is plain ignorance and is not funny at all!

Now USAJojo,

Take him to:

- Wakif Souk

- Desert dunes

- Rent a Boat from Sheraton (Do some jetski, it's fun trust me)

- ...

By the way your husband's best guide is YOU not some rental agent, you don't want some unknown guy to be with you in the short time your husband gets to be with you, so make it simple and romantic.

Try the Teatro restaurant at the Ritz, IMO it's the best fine dinning place out here.

Wish you lots of fun and a good time w/ your lover!
