Non-Western drivers

Remember one post a few days ago against non-western drivers in Qatar? Here is another story. Not sure if heard such thing before in non-West.

http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2007/07/27/ap/strange/main3106554.shtml

Police say Nathan Blair, 24, of Moorhead, Minn., was wearing a black kilt when he exposed himself to motorists near a busy street and had xxx with a woman in the backyard of a house.

Posting this only to point out that no culture is perfect by all means. So please refrain from attacking other's culture.

i don't think that anyone denies the fact that their are idiot drivers in the west. i'm from canada, and i'll readily tell anyone listening that some people in canada shouldn't be allowed to drive.

but there is a difference between the relatively small percentage of people in the west who drive like a$$es and the relatively large percentage of people in doha that drive like a$$es.

this isn't attacking a culture, it is stating a fact.

google UN and bad driving, and you will discover some interesting facts. fatalities caused by cars is the second biggest killer in the developing world, the biggest being HIV/AIDS. that means that road accidents kill more people than war, or famine, or anything else except HIV/AIDs. do you not find that shocking? i find it mind blowingly shocking - car accidents kill more people than war. that is a shameful waste of life. it is such a huge problem that the UN is now getting involved.

this is not an attack, it is a statement of fact. now, surely some people go too far and do attack the culture here. but i think most people don't do that, and even if they did it wouldn't change the fact that there is a huge problem here, and indeed in many other places.

I was on a subway platform in Korea when a Korean man started running up and down the platform waving his dingle about and screaming.

I trust that story was as relevant to driving as yours lara.

"While investigating the incident, a friend of the couple directed police to the backyard of the home, Claus said."

The next time I am going to have sex in someones backyard I will make sure I don't tell any of our friends.

They might tell the police, like what happend to this poor couple.

I don't know, is nothing sacred?

Thanks for the tip anyway.

And why was Father Christmas there?

Or is that spelt Clause with an E?

How could I be offended by a post that makes no sense and is irrelevant?I did read the post and it is completely irrelevant to the previous thread you referred to.

See how you feel offended. Same applies to other people when attacked just for not being a western.

The only connection between that thread and this one is, that thread talked about distractions caused due to practices of non western drivers. The same would happen when a motorist's attention is diverted to this exposing fellow? Because he exposed himself to motorists (read the post pls). Wrong?

Again! don't want to drag this issue to Indian / non Indian drivers. It depends on an individual; how much he cares for his children. And I wish he does not divorce their mother when they are still young, just to go after another woman.

Here I conclude this thread, with regret if I offended anybody in any manner.

I am a terrible driver who managed to get 6 speeding tickets + 6 parking tickets during the last 6 months. 1 pending sticker pasted on the glass at City Centre. Sucks. 4 accidents in 1 year. QIC refused to reinsure the car :) don't know what to do

How you doin' buddy. Missed your obnoxious but enjoyable company at Paloma on Thursday.

You are a brilliant driver. I know my driving sucks but I am getting instruction from our office driver (a Sri Lankan). He is very good and has only had three accidents in our office parking lot.

Come on man, have you been digging for long to find something to outweigh the fact that specially a lot of drivers from the Indian subcontinent don't actually know how to drive? Talking about dangerous driving does not by any means imply attack on any culture. I am not here to defend all insane and sometimes fierce things from the west that often make the news nowadays. But the comparison you are making, trying to prove your point is absolutely senseless.

May the roof above us never fall in, and may the friends below never fall out!

This story that you have posted has absolutely nothing to do with driving. I am obviously much less intelligent than you because I fail to see any connection betweem the earlier thread about non western drivers in Qatar and some lunatic in Minnesota who wears a kilt and exposes himself. What has any of this got to do with driving?

I know that Indian driving is superior but you don't have to brag about it. This morning, I saw an Indian driver (sub-continent anyway) driving along with three little kids unsecured in the front seat next to him. This would not happen in the west because we are not such good drivers as you and we would be scared that a need to brake suddenly would result in our kids being propelled through the windshield to their almost certain deaths.

Driving practices are not so superior in India. Of-course people do err.

I Did not mean any offense to Western people and did not mean that everybody there is doing the same but do you remeber that post in which it was repeatedly asserted that only non-western drivers are offensive.

It has nothing to do with western or non-western but only the attitude of an individual. Bad elements are everywhere in every nation and culture, even in India. Right?

This is a really good post because it beautifully illustrates the difference between western and non-western drivers.

The case of Nathan Blair of Moorhead, Minnesota is very common in the west. In fact, it is so common that I am very surprised that it made the news.

It is very common for drivers in the west to wear kilts, expose themselves to other motorists and to have sex with women in the backyard of houses. This behavior is absolutely normal in the west and is practised by almost everyone. I am surprised that you didn't know this.

Anyway, now that you do know, you can take pride in the far superior driving practices that you have in India.
