I will be moving to Al Khor with my family next month. I have three children. My eldest son is 12 , starting in Yr 8 and was not able to secure a place at AlKhor English school but got into Doha College. Is this commutable everyday? Are there any buses that go to Al Khor or are there any other Kids that travel to Doha College on a daily basis. My daughter will be at al Khor. Are there any nurseries in Al Khor?

As far as I know there is Doha College Buses that goes to Al khor and there is community buses that goes to doha everyday for free. Call Al Waha Club...

Trust me you don't need to worry about it. The Community Management is very helpful.

Al Khor Community is a good place, they have 3 recreation clubs where you can enjoy all the facilties for free.

They also have good restaurants inside ;-)

Goodluck.

GOOD MORNING to QLérs!

Cheers!

minara ... all i know that from Al Khor to Doha will take 45 mins to commute each way (might be more with the traffic situation at presents). Means your kid will have an extra 2 hrs to spend on the road.

Just in case you don't get much respond on this forum, why dont you drop the same message in expatwoman.com in Qatar section? Majority poster in that forum are ladies / expatwives. Hopefully they can help you.

Talking about buses ... I honestly dont trust the bus driver here. They drive like lunatic eventhough carrying a school children in it. We at some points might have to move to mesaieed ... and have discussed to my husband that i will commute Mesaieed - Doha return for school run.

Good luck with the moving.
