Comments Required Real Urgently.
A dear friend of mine has ben working for an advertising company for 1 complete year now.
It was time for him to go on his annual leave in August when the manager or partner (i would call him a scamster) stated that he cant go 'coz the manager's wife's pregnant & the delivery's scehduled for August.
Like duh...!!
Ova dat this certain manager has been literally harassing my friend for a complete year. LITERALLY !!!
I should know 'coz we r office mates.
Finally my friend relented & agreed that he'll go on July 03.
As per the contract, (tho my friend has been on a visiting visa for a complete year), it's stated that he is entitled to leave that's paid.
Yesterday night, this certain manager calls up and states that the leave salary will be only paid up when my friend returns.
Like Duh...!!! (AGAIN !!!)
Finally, my friend lost his marbles when the manager stated that he is ready to lend my friend the money and my dear friend verbally gave his resignation.
Now. the company is stating that they need the return ticket money back.
That's when i lost my marbles too.
Isn't there a limit??
I have called up lawyers & am planning to issue a case against them for fraudulent acitivites on behalf of my friend.
ANY COMMENTS???

while u said that he was on visiting visa then labor dept. will do nothing .. as tonymontana said they might judge him bcuz of working without working permission .. as the law says if u r on visiting visa u r not allowed to work .. he has been working for one year illegaly and his manager know wut he is doing ... was there any contract ?? wut is his rights in the contract (if there is any which i doubt) ..
If there is no contract and no working permission (working visa) then sorry to say that ur friend is stucked up there .. he might not even be able to go out of the country untill he pay back the ticket expenses or cost .. i'm not sure of that 100% and hope that it's not true .. plz anyone feel free to correct me if i'm wrong ...

going to labour dept. can backfire if you dont have proper permit to work.
my suggestion is to amicably settle the case with the employer, if that doesnt work... then go to the labor department.

Read it, you can access it on the web. Then talk to the labour dept. they are excellent at what they do.
I think the poor guy is entitled to have an annual leave and a return ticket...any way before issueing a case, you can go to the labors dept...
