I hv two lebanese friend work for some contracting company. Their work/project is finished. Only problem, the sponsor which is four season hotel company dont want to release them and its been 4 months they dont received their salary. Both tried everyday to get in touch with the sponsor but he avoided them and tell them to go back to lebanon without release visa. Thats mean they cannot come back to Doha and find other job for two years. If this company only thinking money and money why cant they just give my friends release visa so they can go home although not received last 4 months salary. Atlest they free to do anything they want. At the moment they just waiting and waiting from the sponsor. Can anyone give me some input how they should proceed this case? is there any foundation that help this kind problem?? please i really want to help my friend but dont know what to do. Thanks for any help/feedback in advance. appreciated.

Simply say Qatar do not have the confidence of opening up to free market. Sponsorship, exit permit & NOC are all slavery methods.

mila i've been thru with this kind of problem but once you go to Qatar Labor Office and present your case with enough proof right there and then they will call the sponsor and will ask them to present himself so that is the best way how to deal with them as DaRuDe and e46M3 advised you ...go pretty girl!!!

Mila, they can try luck in the UAE or Kuwait. It's unfortunate the way some sponsors treat people they are responsible for as if they were insignificant feathers fluttering in the air.

There is not much to be done other than appealing to the better nature of the sponsor. I think it is likely that the sponsorship law will change at least for the professional people (along the lines of UAE) but probably not in time to help your friends. The other alternative is to leave the country and return on a business visa and do a monthly visa run.

Mila, there's not much they can do if the sponsor won't release them.

They can try going to the Labor Department and the Human Rights Commission but I'm not sure where that would get them.

If the work is finished how are they surviving?

let them go to labor department and complain. this is the only solution...

let them have their document as proof.
