Is anyone on this forum currently living there? I understand that this is where my family and will be living but not sure if it is compound 1 or 2. Looking to hear some specifics from current residents. Thanks in advance!

Hi -

Don't know about Al Zuhoor but just saw a sign saying Green Village is now managed by a company out of Dubai called Better Homes.

It's Al Zuhoor for me! QU have just sent me my new address! How exciting - and it sounds absolutely beautiful! Can't wait to swim every day.

Never been in a villa in Green Village but it is really nice. Really big villas. Haven't heard of Majestic.

As far as the mentioned compounds go:

Al fardan Gardens #1 on D ring road opposite LULU hypermarket. By far the nicest swimming pool in all of Qatar, it even has a rock waterfall over the jacuzzi area. 3, 4 and 5 bedroom villas. VERY VERY Nice. Probably rated #1 in all of Doha. Cost of a 4 bedroom villa=22,000QR/month last I checked.

Alfardan #2 off Al-Waab road 3 round-a-bouts past Hyatt plaza. Also very nice. Beautiful clubhouse. Problem is carport is too small to fit your car inside.

Alfardan #3 on E ring road near Indian school. OK. house much smaller, clubhouse not as great.

Alfardan #4 in the process of being built? anyone know where this one is to be?

Al Zuhoor:

Very very nice houses. Clubhouse is OK pool good. restaurant bad.

All of these are acceptable places to live.

Action-Unltd,

If you know of a standalone villa with 10 bedrooms and a swimming pool + other benefits for 20,000, I would love to know about it. We are looking for a standalone villa at the moment with 5+ bedroom, with at least split A/c and they seem to be all in excess of 18,000. (We are looking around khalifa stadium/ abu hamour/ muraikh / aziziya).

Would love some help in locating a place if anyone knows of any.

Action_Unltd.

For the price of Qrs. 20,000, u can actually lease a stand alone consisting of 10 bedrooms, 6 bathrooms and otha benefits.

Oops, i forgot the swimming pool too.

Did i mention the garden too??

Cheers.

if your company / hubby's company can afford to put you in Al fardan, you are one of the lucky people in Doha. :-)

Visited a few compounds and Al Fardan certainly appeared the best looked after.

I did see al fardan automobiles online as well but did not realise it was a branch of the same family.

There were lots of smiling staff around the clubhouse. The place seemed secure with the guys on the gate.

No residents - it was during a weekday and quite warm I suppose.

Also villagio is fairly close and looked quite a good mall with the french bakery, boots, adidas, and virgin.

I know a few people who live at Al Fardan and they don't complain.

Most Al Fardan enterprises are well run. Al Fardan are a family if you didn't know that. Almost a dynasty!

thanks novita. checked the site but looks like psvt left.

i did read there about a pilates class at the al fardan 2.

The gym looked quite good when I visited.... though my current fitness training mainly consists of walking.

I looked round Al Fardan 2 last week.

Does anyone on QL live there? Seemed quite nice. The colours are jolly. Where in the scale of compounds does it come? Anyone have anything bad to say about the compund or maintenance?

Your comments would be appreciated.

oppsss! not Al Fardan! it's actually Al Faisaliyah! is an old compound and already crowded. Al Zuhoor Complex 1 is quite new and 2 is completely new! You should check it for yourself! Al Zuhoor Complex facilities are beautiful and new!

I heard the villas in Beverly Hills (not sure if it was 1, 2 or 3) were going for like 25,000 QR/month!

philip ... rent is vary. Most of my friend living there paid by company. Ppl from Maersk used to live there, then the rent keep going up so the moved the staffs to Al Nasseem (behind ponderosa). Mind you ... newer tenant always pay higher rent.

I believe the rent in Al Fardan if you pay your own won't be far off QR 20.000 (probably more), company can rent it slightly cheaper because they rent the unit in bulk.

Al Fardan is still one of the prime compounds in Doha. Massila is old, Al Fardan is not.

Al Zuhoor Complex 2 is quite new, next to Les Rose # 2 and we have Recreation Center with beautiful Garden and shaded swimming pool and a gym. soon we will have cafe and a shop too. As a family you're likely to have 4 bedroom fully furnished villas like us. ;-)

The original Al Zuhoor compound is beautiful - I live just opposite, and the villas look fantastic, very spacious, great clubhouse and lots of greenery. Its close to Villagio and Hyatt Plaza, just off Al Waab street.

Al Zuhoor 2 is just round the corner. Not as impressive because its just been completed, so there's little greenery, it looks a bit utilitarian with a lot of dust around and most of the place is empty. The villas too look really squashed close together. But inside they are very nice - my friend was staying there till recently - they're comfortable and spacious. You'll be happy in either compound I'm sure.

My husband's friend lives there and he says it is awesome. Huge villas and a wonderful pool area. Located on a road near American School between Salwa and Waab. Husband says if we were there I would be happy in Doha for ten more years... :)

It is very sorry to say that even you cannot get a Karwa Taxi 14 hours in advance.

I wanted a taxi for next day 0800 hrs - and wanted to book at 1700 hrs of previous day - got response that no taxi is available till 1000 hrs of next day - what a scene.
