What is this new Qatar Point website all about? is it part of Qatar living? a newer version?? i got a PM from someone inviting me to join. Is this site going?

The fact that so many members are uncontrolled and this site ended up just fighting because of all the repeated unpleasant insults and bad words people use all the time here! this site is already big and the admin has difficulties to control every single words the member has to throw to each other! and some are feeling too important in this site regards him/herself has a power to control whoever he/she doesn't like among the members. So what's the fuss if we find somewhere else to go which is not yet so crowded, new and fresh site? people should respect other peoples choices! we're not saying we would leave QL, but whoever want to explore somewhere else should not be judged. This is our home and fortunately we found a new home! so we should regards each other as lucky that Qatar society is now progressing! Having different useful informative sites should not be regards as competition! "Al Hamduli'Allah"

It's exactly what I said before that membership are free, so what's the fuss all about? We're not doing business here that we charge less than the other company! People has their own opinion and point of view and only you, yourself can make decisions on what you want to do!

Don't count on it. Dohamap-dot-info tried exactly the same marketing tactics - lots of comments mentioning a competing site, and were rightly stopped. It's just spam. And dohamap never stooped to unsolicited personal messages and classified adverts.
There have been exactly the same adverts on filipino expats and urban planet. I guess you're spamming every Qatar forum you can find. Grim.

why would we be bothered? The site you mention has only just been launched, seems from a quick google search to be spamming every other middle-east forum with adverts, and it seems to be populated by two people pretending to be many more.
No one cares here what happens on your site, unless you have something interesting to share. Do you have any interesting content to share from your site Ram? Or is it just another discussion board with no distinguishing feature?

Google supply the ads, and they pay Qatari a small amount for every ad shown, and slightly more for every click on an advert. I don't think it will be a lot of money, but every website costs money to run.
I suppose the advertisements which I see at the top and down the side of threads (for example) which often relate to the subject matter just pop up there because there is some software which searches it out and pops the ad in.
My brain hurts ... think I will have a cup of coffee and finish my book lol

and i asked the administrator to play the game clean if he wanna play it .. and he said that he didn't do that it might be the director and he said that he will check that and he apologized for it .. he is a very nice man i guess
Han19 ur word will not be censored unless u typed the full word as "Qatar Living" not only QL .. and as i saw u r always using the QL as ref. to Qatar Living so it is not censored ..
Qatar Point is a New Website .. and it's doing well as the members are increasing .. it's a clean competition .. and wut is the problem to be active in 2 forums .. it doesn't harm any at all..
and to be the town talk .. i consider this as signs for a big future ..

I dont think QL members will just get up and become active members of that site, it takes a lot of work to make a site like QL and dedication of lots of members to make it successful. I have stated the similar over there too.
there is a reson most of us come back to QL. Qatarpoint needs to tap into that first.
but honestly, that site does look pretty, i liked its apprearance and lots of features that they have.

those advertisement u see is their sponsor, and i think they are paying some dues for that.

boys and gals, if you can manage two forums at the same time, then i see no harm in joining another site.
i was a member of QBB too, and although Ql gets boring at times, i keep coming back to QL.
i dont have the patience for two forums.
QL is not insecure about its members.
if Qpoint can do the same as Ql or even more,then why not, its all about sharing information and interraction, isnt it.

It is a totally new site. I got the same message from somebody who is a very active QL memeber and known to me personally.
