What happens if a person's family are refused visas?
By Serendipity •
What happens if someone makes the move to Qatar and starts their job, but then a couple of months down the line, the visa applications they made for their family to join them are refused?
I'm aware from other posts that sometimes the process takes a long time, but how often does the visa application actually get refused?
And what happens then?
Because the exit visa scenario, can the employer force the employee to stay in the country and complete their contract even though their family is unable to join them?
Or does the company allow the person to resign and return home?
What happens?
You cannot apply a husband visa for your wife w/o the NOC from her sponsor.
The best thing to do is send her home and bring her on your husband visa/family visa anytime.
Good luck!;)
Greetings and good day to all, just want to ask if anybody with the same experience as i have. My wife has been given a working visa 3 months ago but unfortunately she found out that her work is to heavy for her resulting to be sick everytime and so we decided to talk to the employer to cancel the visa and will transfer to my visa as husband visa, the problem is that it seems that the employer will not give NOC, my question is that can my wife still can apply for a husband visa eventhough she has no NOC? Thank you so much for all your responces and more power
hey blackcat
You are totally or partially wrong the labor law is definitely with the workers ( just add Qatari before workers)
Qatari workers have rights. they can quit at will. they have good salaries, accomodations
whereas........thats a long story
You can always go and complain at Labour dept. provided that you can prove your claims.
Unless you did an unusual mistakes against the company or against the Law, if the company wants to terminate you for example on grounds of professional incompetence, they should also give you a notice period depending on the length of your service w/ them. I think less than 5 yrs of service= 1 month notice period, more than 5 yrs of service= 2 months notice period.
Also they cannot terminate you while on annual leave/vacation. On the other hand, you cannot resigned while on leave. Unless you go on vacation and no return, but that is unprofessional on your side.
The company cannot force the employee to stay if that is the case. The employee can always resign but give at least 1 month notice period to his employer/company, within that period the employer/company will have time to hire someone to replace you. But if you resigned w/in your contract period, the company will ask you to shoulder your travel expenses(ticket) back home.
And as what im saying even they denied your application, you can get an apointment but make sure you MEET the CRITERION for family visa... blahhhh

What you are saying is not true about labor law and disputes.
Also promises are not contracts. Labor court checks the contracts and not the promises. AND it does not take ages. Before visa cancellation, the employee is asked whether his/her dues are fully settled.
Serendipity. Family visas are very rarely refused. Usually if the parent salary does not meet the minimum required to bring family.
Who refused? the company or the labor department. if the labor dept. then you can ask them for committee second opinion with all the supporting documents and they will talk to the person requesting for family sponsorship so there will be the last chance., if you can convince them good if not.. sorry..
If the employer, as they said., you only have 2 option.. TAKE it or LEAVE it..

yes they do lie alot but they cannt force yu to stay in the country.
You MUST BE KIDDING!!! so why there are SOOOOOO many cases when Company promissed to the employee certain conditions, and it everything is included in the contract and signed by both parts, and later the Company does not follow this contract, doesn't not keep its promisses, even doesn't pay salary on time (or pay less then in the contract, or neglect others obligations), etc. Or can cancell your visa with no any explanations, and you must leave the country in 24 hours, with no chance to get in back in a next 2 years... And - what??? all you can do is " TAKE IT OR LEAVE IT!!! yes, you cane sue the Company, but only theoretically, because it will take years and years, and all your money as well...
...the law in Qatar is with workers????
i would prefer if the employer read very well the contract before he / she sign on the contract but company cannot force the employer to stay. the law in Qatar is with workers.
