Chartered Accountant offered salary of 8,000 riyals
Hi all,
Iam a chartered accountant working in India. Currently i have been offered a pay of 8,100 riyals per month by E&Y DOha, qatar. I have no idea about the lifestyle there. will this salary be enough to lead a good comfortable life. i have only a 6 months experience(that explains the low offer, i guess).
how would be the prospect of growth? is there a nightlife in doha?

If you are a bachelor and a fresher in your career, its a tough choice. Why would you want to leave India ??? You have done the tough part of becoming a CA. Now, why do you want to start a career here where there is not much scope for career growth ?
Housing is very very expensive. Your salary will just about cover the rent of a 2 bedroom apartment. But if you are willing to share a room in an apartment, it will cost you about 2500 riyals per month. You will need to buy a car. Taxis are a nightmare. You only need to wait for about 3 hours to find a taxi on the road ... The car loan repayment will be around 1000 riyals for a 1.3 - 1.5 litre sedan. Then comes your other living expenses. You can make your calculations based on the above.
Prospect of growth - most of the guys who join audit companies quit after 3-4 years and join one of their clients as a finance chief !!!
There is nightlife in Doha, but will be out of your reach financially - this is what I think. There are many nightlife experts on this forum who can advice you. I am a teetotaller and non-partying kind...
