Dream Vacation/Destination, Anyone?

I guess everyone's feeling the slow rise in the temperature these days. Some forum topics this past few days ended up in heated discussions and fiery exchanges of ideas.

So, let's lighten (oh, brother!!!) things up a bit...

QUESTION: If given the chance to get away from Qatar for 1-2 weeks, where would you go and why?

Let's spice it up (still hot, eh?) a bit, IT'LL BE AN ALL EXPENSES PAID TRIP...

Me? Two weeks in Maldives with or without MY MAN...paradise bliss ;-)

How about you? What would it be?

Hi,

My favourite choice would be at the sea, probably starting from here, down to Kenya, along the east African coast to South Africa. Pretending to be Cheng-Wo who explored the sea few hundred years ago ...

It's surprisingly amazing to travel at sea, esp. on working ships like container vessels instead of cruises. Calm (if no hurricane) & comfortbale. I experienced once (for work) and it's one of my unforgetable moments in live.

Having visited many times, there is only one place for me

Scotland

Fantastic scenery, cheap by euro standards, fresh air, great bars, fishing etc etc, weather not so good sometimes, but it does not matter, the place is full of rich history with much to see and do, pick the correct time, for festivals such as Edinburgh or the highland games, the whisky trail, the home of golf has so many courses scattered all over the place. 15 minutes drive from the main cities or towns you are in the coutryside, fresh crisp clean air. Try it!

hey man its a team work, 10 or more bikers, a support vehicle and mechanics , 2 nights halt in some of the cities like lahsa,

it wont be much tiring , we used to go for continuous rides of upto 5 days in nepal, and it used to be fun with more than20 bikers hitting the road hard.

i still remember very nice 2 weeks vacation I did in Tuscany, Italy. Beautiful places to see, then in the evening go to one of those small towns on the hill, sit in the restorant overlooking beautiful green parts of Tuscany, maybe even catch the sunset and enjoy great cuisine, and nice glass of Chianti...

I would like to do either the Trans-Sibberian railway and take the train from Beijing to St. Petersburg or go from Beijing down through Veitnam, Cambodia, Laos and Thailand. Either way they would both take longer then two weeks. Ummmm for a two week vacation...I would like to go to Argentina, Peru and Brazil.

Cuba for me.

I've always wanted to go, ever since watching the Buena Vista Social Club; it's the kind of faded grandeur of the place that seemed so... I can't think of the right word, but it really appeals. I mean, I know there's a lot of poverty and hardship there, but there also seems to be a lot of positivity, a lot of spirit. I want to spend the nights listening to good music, dancing and drinking mojitos.

But every time I travel I head in the wrong direction.

Hands down it would be the Garden Route in South Africa. From Knysna to Cape Town - with the sea on one side and mountains on the other!

I love the place.

I want to live ther some day.

I'm not as well travelled as some but I have been there and would love to get under the surface and see the real deal.
