There's a couple of smaller compounds behind Beverley Hills - Al Doha Gardens and Al Waab Gardens. These, and all of pwb's suggestions, are very close to the American School.
Your biggest problem is going to be finding school places for your kids - unless the schools have agreements with your husband's firm.
Hey - I just responded to you private message. I can't really think of any areas that you can't find a good compound, even the Industrial Area has a really nice compound. If you have a compound in mind, post it and see what people say. Around the American School there are many nice compounds and it's a nice area. Near the new Villagio Mall (really nice) with a Carrefour, Hyatt Plaza, and the Aspire/Khalifa Stadium area which has a playground, walking paths and they're building a unbelievably big park. If you're checking out the classifieds, some of the compounds would be Beverly Hills 1-3, Les Roses, Green Village ? green something :), Alfardan 2 and more I can't think of right now.
I have heard good things about the American School.
thankyou for the info!! I am looking into the american school(i am american) and the qatar academy. Do you have experience with either of those schools? I am concerned about whether my 2 will get a place. I can imagine moving to qatar into a villa that stands alone makes it difficult to meet people?? Are there certain areas that i should not look into or does it not matter? thank you
Well there are several things to consider - where will you/your husband be working and where are your kids going to go to school? There are nice compounds/villas all over Doha. Stand-alone villa or compound is your preference. Compounds offer instant friends for you and the kids, usually ammenities like gym, pool, and playground, and they come in all sizes. Stand-alones will offer more privacy and I've talked to some moms who like that kids aren't knocking on the door all the time when their kids are trying to do homework.
Qatar's winter months are brimming with unmissable experiences, from the AFC Asian Cup 2023 to the World Aquatics Championships Doha 2024 and a variety of outdoor adventures and cultural delights.
