Amazing QLers,

From your experience, what's the best 'high point' in Doha, from which you can see a nice view?

Eager to hear from you

Which reminds me to ask you, ninfea, When is actually that museum opening?

Everybody has been mentioning Shaheen. Maybe one day in the future when all the regular QLers can have a gathering, you never know!

not a high point but museum of islamic art will be a good point of view after its opening.

You can see all of the corniche, around city centre(mall I mean) it seems like Manhattan with all skyscrapers...

The other issue that makes it different I think is; it is in the sea...

as rayyz, I also find al shaheen of Sheraton amazing with its scenery... I want to see four seasons's. Any one saw ?

You shud Book one of them planes for like an hour or so and go about the higest they can all over Qatar. That will be your higest point here.

It's like about QAR500/- and seats 4 I think or maybe max 6. You can call the aeronautical college and find out more.

By the way J&H, it's true that most of Qatar's terrain is flat.

But geographically, the highest point is: "Qurayn Abu al Bawl" at an elevation of 103 m.

I like the view in Admirals club at the Ritz Carlton, on the back side you can sit down and enjoying your drinks with nice views of the yacth and soon the glamorous The Pearl.

I would imagine, when people are allowed into the hotel at the torch, or the swimming pool.

This structure is between Villagio and Khalifa stadium.

What I understand of the Torch is that it was built at the highest point in Doha, hence from anywhere in Doha it is visible..... have not checked this out.

Also agree with rayyz about the Salam towers view, The Shaheen restaurant at Sheraton, The top most restaurant (forgot the name) at Ritz Carlton.... I think from there you can see the Pearl being constructed.

.....no high points in Qatar.

Isn't it flat?

I would love to hear of nice places of natural interest though.

How many of you have followed those roads in the middle of nowhere I see on Google Earth?

I will definately do that, WHEN I get my flight date.

View from the penthouse of Sheraton Doha hotel, Al Shaheen restaurant is pretty good actually. During the evening the view from there is quite similar to Marine Drive (Queen's Necklace) of Bombay.

I've also been to ExxonMobil's office (or maybe some other company) in HSBC tower bang opposite the Sheraton, view from there is quite good too. I'd imagine an even better view would be from the penthouse of the new Q-Tel Tower, again besides the Sheraton.
