QP- is it a good move

Reading a lot of recents entries we are beginning to wonder if a job offer with QP is a good move. e.g the apparent lack of job development, inflexiblity in allowances, low housing allowances to name a few. My husband has been offered a offshore position on Halul Island. We are already living in the middle East and he has been approached very recently with a possible job offer, offshore within the UAE, still waiting hear what the full package offered will be, but QP is a rota of 7/7 and UAE 28/28 So any thoughts about QP will be helpful for us to assist us making our minds up when we have all the details. - I know with a familiy 7/7 is more favourable rota for me.
Thanks in advance

BUT only spotting the bad sides and always talk about problems will lead us to nowhere.
By the way, I don't take things personally, just express my feelings about those who don't know how blessed and gifted they are(it's up to them anyways), we are all givted in different ways.
"IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT, LEAVE" I always say to expats who keeps complaining and cursing.
Light a small candle instead of cursing the darkness
Good luck and God bless us all
I always have a beleif thatif there is something negative, I will not just complain BUT I will do my best to convert it to positive as much as I can. All the things you all mentioned is every where, should we stop working or living?
And it wasn't nice to say "brain wasing" and "how much they have paid me", this is the losers way of discussion.
In a very simple words (I always say theat to people who always complaini about the country or the company)
"IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT, LEAVE"
there is noone forces anyone to stay in a company or a country he/she doesn't like.
I had a small story of an English Instructor who kept in complaining and criticising the GULF countries and people, at the end he was saked and was bigging to retain his job.
again I would say it
"IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT, LEAVE"
It's hard to believe such a comment from a Qatari, I always thought its only the expats who are not happy with the policies and discrimination between male and female employees. I am quiet happy here, probably as you said Department and Superiors makes a big difference. In our department they give all possible trainings and development opportunity for deserving Qatari employees who are keen.
But unfortunately I haven't found many enthusiastic national female employees like you...in our dept.
Wait another few more years ... and pls go back in this thread and we will see wether you will say the same :-)
I just moved to QP, it's not heaven but it's still the biggest and the most well-established company in Qatar.
You will never find heaven on earth, all the companies all over the world have +ve and -ive aspects, it depends on how u look at it. Anyways, QP is a nice company to work for, if u r a hard worker and really committed to ur work.
Good luck wherever u and ur family stay
What is the problem with QP?
STAY AWAY!!!! STAY FAAAAAAR AWAAAAAY!!!
QP = BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAD!!!!!
*** u didnt hear it from me *****
shhhhhhhhh
ps. u dont wna leave the UAE for Qatar - TRUST ME!!!!!!!
"He who reigns within himself and rules passions, desires, and fears is more than a king."
If you are happy with where you are, dont think of moving to QP.
If you have a similar or better opportunity somewhere else, dont think of moving to QP.
