What happened to QL??

I was away from this forum for sometime, all of a sudden I feel like am in the wrong place. All heated discussions on dating…relationship…. nasty language….offensive comments. It was more comfy discussions before. Actually I was happy to see the new changes and improvements. But of late some new members are trying to mess this place. Pleaseeeeee ….. lets keep this forum for clean & healthy discussion and not to prove your super EGO.

Just consider this as a passing phase. YOu cannot expect everyone to behave in the same manner. If you try to to make things exclsive then the whole scenario changes.

The bes one can do is ignore the comments thats all and may be remove those comments.

You'll see if people will ever bother to get in here! So you people who complains a lot would have to pay too! see if you will bother too! Too many complains if anyone is irritating you! learn to ignore it! it only affects you because you pay attention with it! sometimes people may not be that much informative to you but they find this site enjoyable to visit because it's either they find it helpful or amusing to know what other people think.

In other words. stop moaning!!!

Just keep dancing, it will do you good!

How am I attacking Gypsy gal??

You can ask Qatari why he created this site Charmed, he will say this is a forum for people from different cultures to meet and exchange thoughts and ideas. Unfortunately when you do that on the internet you wind up with idiots and trolls, the best thing to do is ignore them as well as ignore the threads your not interested in.

I said you can't block people off the site, and that's the plain and simple truth, you can try but they will come back. And usually they come back worse than when they left.

this is suppose to be a family based web site - with probably younger readers than you or i...... thats why we need to get rid of this nonesense. advocating violence, racisim and bad language is not what this site is about.

Your quite new here Gypsy - im not i use to be on here under a different name but i lost the password and became Charmed.

leave Gypsy gal alone shes quite right in what she says, your also rather opinionated which is a good thing its nice to have different opinions on the site - but you do get rather personal which can upset others!!

love life!

I didn't take it wrong at all Dragon6. It is stupid, but as I said, the best thing to do is ignore it.

It seems you took our post in a wrong manner.

We were referring to people posting very stupid and inappropriate posts, such as stories of beating up people, males asking dates from other males, etc.....

That is the only thing that is not nice to see in such a forum.

Cheers!

It seems that when people don't agree with your opinion or what you say here ooo, they get angry and make accusations. Par for the course. :P

Gypsy gal, I wasn't fighting with anyone. I simply said you can't make QL into an exclusive club, if you want that go to qatarblahblah. This site was orginally started by Qatari as a place for expats and locals alike to get to know one another. After you've answered the umpteenth "Is this enough to live off of..." then you'll want other things to talk about.

By ooo• 25 Feb 2007 13:09

Sorry but I don't think Gypsy is fighting with anybody here, to me she is just expressing her opinion like everyone else

Why are you fighting with everyone in here? Same applicable for you as well, If you don't like here don't read it. This forum was not meant to be a place for crap. This was an informative site and was very helpful to new comers and expats living in Qatar.

I suppose you are right. Just ignore them seems the best answer.

By Gypsy• 25 Feb 2007 12:48

So what? You make QL an exclusive club for those that have jobs? Some people might not be allowed to use their business email for personal stuff like a chat forum. THis site is a site for everyone in Qatar, just because you might not like someone doesn't mean you have a right to kick them out.

By Paul R• 25 Feb 2007 12:36

First of all you can insist on a email address that is not yahoo, hotmail, etc. Has to be a company address, AOL or anything name related and trackable. Or you can ask for a cellphone number and send an activation text to it. Then if the same numbers or emails keep appearing you can block them.

They will soon get tired of having to think of ways around it.

You can't block people guys, they can just sign up with a new account. If you don't like the dating and other stuff, just don't read it.

I agree, I used to send people to this site with questions. Now I hold back. Maybe a questionaire when signing up, just to check they are real and not creating multiple idents.

I'm not saying making it a dull site, we all enjoy a laugh and some teasing, but we need to cut the cr@p, the racisim, the spam classifieds, and the sexist rubbish.

Appoint 2-3 trusted moderators to remove the rubbish.

You are both bang on target.

I mean from people looking for a date, to people seeking attention, to others just wanting to have a laugh, this forum has gone from an informative and social-club kind of setting into a street market filled with filthy @$%@#$!%!

I would suggest to Qatari, if he wants I could help as well, to launch a dating and personals site for all these lovely people, a forum where they can let go of all their issues and inner struggles. Once that is up and running, he will then block all these nuisances from QL.

This way, QL could go back to being what it was a few weeks ago.

If you agree, let's put up a petition on the forum and get it signed by all those members who agree, and solve this matter once and for all!

Have a great day all!

Cheers!

I am good, How you guys doing?, I am too busy at work these days, still i manage to pop in at times just to see what's going on here but sad to say that I feel very much out of place. Yes, Qatari's intervention is required to keep this place cool. Is Truth working on the Photography Workshop? I am planning to attend. See you there.

Lets just ignore them all. As soon as they get attention they want more. Give them none and maybe they'll get on with their homework.
