Aerobics Classes - getting in shape

Am young in both mind and body... but the comforts of a plush life have made me put on a few unwanted kilos..... i used to be really fit and smart... wud play tennis and swim 5 days every week when i was in dubai... but blame it on my busier schedules or more comfy lifestyle here im getting more lazy and more out of shape....

Im not gonna sit back and complain... I have decided to get into shape by joining aerobics and swimming and tennis in doha asap. I want to know where in Doha can i find a hot and happening health club... sumwhere within city limits where i can work ouut lose the unwanted kilos and also meet young and friendly people and get to enjoy doha life better...

Any suggestions?

thank you so much for the information...i must check this place out.

i think 350 for a gym is pretty good...considering the 500 and odd other places are charging.the day care is a definite plus.

kerrie how much did they charge for the haircut...bcos i too want to layer my hair and trim again. i know what you mean by them cutting off too much....they usually snip it off and then ask if the length is ok:-(

did the saloon seem expensive or is it just like any other salons around.

The hairdressing staff are Tunisian and communication was a bit of a problem. They gave me a book of syles and I just pointed. I have long hair and normally have layered and feathered round the face. That is what I was going for and that is what I kind of got. When I got home it looked like I had 2 distict lenths of hair. Despite this I am now used to it and have a received a few compliments so I am happy.

I would say that they are really nice and professional. You get the normal head massage but they also do your arms and back. They also give you cotton buds to clean your ears. I am a bit funny about that and hate having my ears wet so that was a mojor plus for me.

I gather one of the biggest problems here is them cutting too much off. The woman that did mine checked exactly how much she could take off.

Hi han19, i am not sure when they did open but i think it was a month ago, the ground floor is still in construction (it will be shops) and the entrance is from the back side, that is why it looks close.

They have a very nice gym, cost is QR350 a month, if you want take the aerobics or yoga class they charge QR350 more each(very expensive for me so i am only going to the gym).

They open all day and for mom's they have a nice day care for babies under 5 years, go and take a look it really deserve it !!

The first floor is the gym and the second floor is beauty spa, pretty nice too, waxing, nails, hair, massage, facial, make up, etc.

I went in for a tour the other week and went back to have my hair done. The ground floor is not finished - will be a mall with bank, cafe, women geared shops. The first and second floor are fitness and beaty - gym, sauna, hairdresser, nails, facials etc etc. The gym is quite big and has a fairly small room off to the side for classes, which I believe are all included within membership. They also do dance classes for those that are interested.

They also have a VIP / Bridal room. they have chairs from each of the main sections in once room where you and friends can get together privately and each consultant comes to you. Looks very nice!

Oh the entire building is woman only, with the excpetion of what appears to be a guard at the door. Until the ground floor finished you need to enter via the rear door.

do they have a gym?

350for a month is pretty good.

is yoga and aerobics a part of the 350?

what time are they open?

i would like to take a look.

I joined Sehati a week ago, this is the new place next to Qatar Decoration, it's really nice place and the staff very friendly. You can work out and also take aerobics and yoga classes, cost QR350 month.

when i was going they used to have single month membership...i had paied 500 for the month or 600 and with the trainer programm it was 800.

but i had taken the couple/family membership.

i think now the single membership is 5000 for year.

they dont take 3,6,month membership.couple is more than that.

i think i have their brochure with me somewhere. if you want i can get you the exact figures.

the only thing i didnt like about ramada was that their jacuzzi was outdoors and common....atealst i never saw a lady sitting in it...there were always nice huge guys seated in it.maybe they have changed that...i have not checked that lately...but they do have ladies sauna.

Thanks for your responses.... Neo if i wanted a date i would openly ask for it... I dont consider dating a sin....

My posting was totally intended to elicit responses from some one who might guide me to a decent aerobics centre... money no bar.....

I wasnt in the least thinking about dating.... But i like the way your mind works.....

Coming to the last bit on my posting ... On top of the few good friends that i have in Doha, I seriously would like to make new friends which would make my life in Doha more pleasurable......

As long as you are trying hard, you are never failing....
