Well a friend of mine lives in a small apartment building.

One bedroom, lounge, kitchen, bathroom provided.

She designed it very nicely as well.

You get what you pay for, and in the world the higher your position, the more free stuff you get it seems.

The magic sentences: What kind of accommodations and what kind of salary? In paper everything is nice and dandy but for the real accommodations: It could be a space of 8X8. No privacy and everything is shared.

alot of people talk about rent increase but they FAIL to note the most crucial thing. Most companies provide housing allowance, OR provide their own accommodation. So it's not that big of an issue unless you are left with a low salary and have to find a place yourself.

Qatar Airways is a good company to work for. It's a large one though with many different divisions.

Some are better than others of course.

At the end of the day, besides rent everything else is quite cheap (compared to most countries) and if you can get benefits added to your salary you're set.

Especially since your salary is yours to keep and no tax deducted :)

Considering the increasing rent situation in Qatar , a 2 Bedroom furnished would cost QAR 7500-8000 p m and unfurnished QAR 5500-6000. Keeping that as prime factor , any salary 15 -20 k pm should be ok for staying with famiy .

Cheers

Hi,

It seems QR is conducting its open day in S'pore...

I suggest that you request your HR coordinator to arrange a teleconference between your future boss & you. Then you could ask your direct manager these questions. I did the same, & they were quite cooperative in doing so.

About working hours, it is around 7.30-15.30 Sun to Fri. But this is for HQ staff. Very likely working hours will be different for airport-based staff.

Thanks.

Hello

I'm in the process of evaluating an offer from Qatar Airways, can someone please let me know the significance of their grading system for the IT dept? Also, if someone could let me know what kind of accomodations they provide for there employees. They are promising me a fully furnished 2-3 bedroom apartment. Does anyone currently reside in an apartment provided by QA? I certainly dont want to walk into an apartment which is run down and furnished with old furniture?

Will really appreciate some responses, since getting a decent accomodation is an important issue for my family and myself.

Thank you,
