Fishing

Dear All!

I have been here for a while (here as in Doha), and till now been extremely busy with work, settling down, blending in....

I would like to start fishing, and was told there are a few great spots for that, but unfortunately, no one pinpointed them to me.

Could anyone help by telling me where I could go and what kind of fishing I could do in the given spot!

Thanks alot!

From the Marhaba book -- "Fishing trips available through the Sheraton Doha. Cost of a seven seater boat is 700 QR for 4 hours. Call Basil at 561 8100 or 485 4600."

my husband and other 16 guys went out for fishing tour few weeks ago. They went to 3 different spots and they catch none. You pay QR 250 per person including lunch and soft drink plus fishing gear. They go through Qatar International Tour.

I think you do not require a permit to fish. I have been told that there are boat operators that even take you to do deep sea fishing.

Was just hoping that someone in this forum knows a few nice spots you can drive to, put ur rod up, and have a great day!

I actually just moved here and I was wondering the same thing. Let me know if you find anything out. I was also wondering if you need a permit or license to fish like you do in the states.
