Car being booked

We had to go to Doha to pick up some family visitors and while coming back from the airport popped in to Villagio for a few groceries.

In the car park I was disgusted to see a very expensive flashy sports car parked in the disabled bay, but not only parked there, it was parked on an angle, so effectively blocking two bays.

When we finished our shopping and passed this car, the police were there and were in the process of writing a ticket. I gave a big cheer and hand clap to the police officer ......

Maybe times are changing - there is no immunity anymore. :-) However, still feel we need to do the point system here ... as obviously the car owner had plenty of money ...

I agree, qatar is changing though at a very slow pace. But something is better than nothing. Doesnt matter if the rich locals dont care about petty fines, this is a beginning and definitely it will serve the country well

very small percentage of the Qatar police dare to book the local. But it is still something.

Never seen it myself but am pleased that the cops are finally doing something to enforce the traffic laws.

Cheers. They are evaluating the point system here. It may be in place sooner than expected.
