whenever there needs to be a confrontation.........always give a day or two before going for it..............by then most of the steam is gone n u r in a better frame of mind to accept or make correct decisions.u are ready to listen bcos u are calm.

thats what hapnd in the adultery thread.........initially it was a discussion going healthy then .............a game of one upmanship........then arguement for no logical reason followed by disrespect bcos no ones ready to understand...........everyone was just getting taken by emotion..........now the steam's gone.............anger subsided........n all are ready to listen again. therefore peace n respect in the posting.

it actually takes just one to upset the cycle and a few to fall prey to it and what results is the adultery thread.

I gave up on the thtead about a hundred posts ago when the vitriol was at its height. I see now that it really did take a peaceful turn. Must be the season of goodwill after all!

The thread was a good one and EFL's question was an interesting one (both this one and the adultery one). It is a shame that it deteriorated into a slanging match.

If people cannot give their opinions without being offensive and abusive it merely highlights their own shortcomings and lack of intelligence.

Hopefully we can continue to share our news and views with a little more respect and intelligence.

I was quite disturbed as to how vicious you have been to Apple in the adultery Threat. You have been bragging about what a strong woman you are all along, however the very fact that you suffer from depression is a very clear indicator that you have you weaknesses too.

THe thing is, we all have our strenghts and our weaknesses. You might be educated and succesful, but you might lack emotional strenth. Having said that, I do believe that women are the stronger sex (of course there always are individual exeptions to the rule). Did you consider Apples background and circustances before accusing her of being weak? Many women around the world are not as lucky as to have an education or career to match our standards. Maybe, just maybe, in their world, to be strong means to be a good wife and a good mother and to set an example of loyalty to their family. What is wrong with that? Sure, I disagree, but I am noone to tell them how to live their lifes. I grew being expected to learn to provide for myself, to don't lower myself to anyone including my own family, to fight against any kind of abuse or oppresion. But I accept that other women might have different values and is not for me to judge them because, in some cases, people don't even think about oppresion as long as they have food in their plates.

IT's funny because Apple somehow reminded me to my grandmother. She is one of the strongest woman I have known, yet she always made a point of being obedient to my grandfather, like if he was some kind of God and she was his slave, even when he was being overtly disrespectful to her in front of everyone. My grandmother has no education, all she has is a great heart and an amazing willigness to please and serve her family.From being very very poor when they got married, my grandfather became a very successful business man and in a small way, a politician. Every time we asked him about the secrets of his success he would say that behind every great man there is a great woman, and he would be nothing without the love and care of my grandmother. Although she is a very uneducated woman who can barely read, she pushed all her sons and daughters to go to university. If I took bad school grades at home, she would go absolutely mad at myself and my mother!

When my grandfather retired, he became a poet and published two beautiful books, most of his poems are about my grandmother, his slave.

thanks for the invite ...im sure kids will love it but my son freaks out when he sees mascots and he will go nuts if he sees santa.........he is a lion at home..........all is fine as long as its on tv for him.

moreover my 18th plans will be dependant on 17th as i have 2 appointments in hamad for my little girl.hope it will all go weel...its routine appts but it still stresses me out.17th goes well then i can insha'allah enjoy my mom's visit on 18th.she shud stay here for eid this time......so looking forward to it.

we have a family friend whose family is in canada.........so past 2 years we celebrate xmas with him........nothing major...just good food n our company......we are all happy........minus the booze..........he goes home for it.

it's a very common childhood disease. Diharrea, vomiting, fever, lack of appetite.

Nothing major, except that she got very dehydrated, but she is fine now.

I started to work last week, with training and stuff. But now they don't need me until the first week of January, you know, because of the games, Eid and Xmas is so quiet! Fine, I'm happy to have one more month at home.

Nobody asked anybody to go over to QB - nobody asked me, nobody asked you. Some people find it nice, some don't, it's really a matter of taste. I disagree when people here say QB is such a horrible place because it isn't, and at the same time QL has its own charm. Somehow though here on QL people seem to speak like these two sites are at war.

The other site has the same people talking on every single thread. Maybe Tendai and e46 can add some value and other opinions there.

Dvargas don't go, give it a while and you will see a whole new range of personalities. So you get bored of the people here and then they somehow...disappear. And then you get new ones.
