Pope John Paul was a Jew
I just had this forwarded to my e-mail. The writer has some highly provocative claims and statements. What I want to know is: is it true? Would the writer be fibbing...and to what benefit? Does it really matter (if the late pope's mother was a Jew)???
Please note nothing in this article reflects any of my own views (I don't even know enough about the topics at hand to have informed views)... just want to get all of your opinions and comments on this as I thought it would be interesting to discuss.

Pope John Paul II Was a Jew
by Joanna Francis
http://joannafrancis.wordpress.com/2006/10/06/pope-john-paul-ii-was-a-jew-infiltrator/
Pope John Paul II was the first Pope in 2,000 years to
visit a Jewish synagogue, scandalizing the entire
Catholic world, or at least those Catholics who are
still aware that the Jewish Talmud gloats over the
crucifixion of Jesus Christ. In this article, a Jewish
historian has uncovered evidence that Pope John Paul's
mother was a Jewess. Under Jewish law, or Halakhah, a
person is Jewish if his mother was a Jew. The Pope's
mother's name was Emilia Katz, which does not sound
like the most common of Polish surnames.
This, coupled with the fact that none of the
biographies or documentaries made about his life say
much about his mother at all, other than the fact that
she died when he was a child. The Pope admitted that
he had mostly Jewish friends growing up, and we saw
that he obviously maintained those friendships for the
rest of his life. The only two people mentioned in his
last will and testament were his longtime Polish aide,
and the Chief Rabbi of Rome.
In the Catholic religion, we believe that there are
two types of sins: sins of commission and sins of
omission. A sin of commission is obviously a concrete
act of sin, such as murder, stealing, cheating or
lying. A sin of omission is no less a sin, but it
involves your failure to do the right thing. So you
don't get off the hook by simply keeping quiet or
looking the other way. In this regard, failing to tell
the truth is as much a sin as telling an actual lie.
Failing to reveal the truth would be considered a sin
of omission.
Pope John Paul II played the role of head of the
Catholic Church for 25 excruciating years; all the
while failing to divulge the fact that he was actually
a Jew. If he cherished his Jewish heritage so much,
then he should have been honest about it, put on a
yarmulke, and headed down to the local shul to be a
rabbi. He did not have the right to drag the
billion-member Catholic Church with him on a
nostalgic, geneological pursuit of his Jewish
heritage. He did not have the right to hijack the
Church and subject the people who trusted him to the
humiliation of watching him grovel at the wailing
wall, and hob-nob with his rabbi buddies, while
wearing the frock of our leader. No previous Pope
would ever have done such things; or ever have let a
Jew put a finger in his face, as John Paul did in the
photo above!
One of the most shameful acts of treachery he
committed in his theatrical role of Pope was the
torturously obsequious apology he made for all the
supposed sins Catholics have committed against the
Jews. This was the height of hypocrisy and duplicity,
considering that the crimes the Jews have committed
against Christians over the centuries far outweigh any
actual sins commited against them by Catholics! He
betrayed 260 of his predecessors who had preserved the
Church and kept it safe from her enemies. They must
have turned over in their graves when he invited
gloating Talmudists to Rome to watch him light a
menorah and grovel at their feet. The Jews sat back
smugly, savoring the sight of their ancient enemy now
prostrate before them, and inside St. Peter's
Basilica, no less. Even Martin Luther would have been
appalled to see the Church sink so low!
He demanded no reciprocal apology from them, however,
for the millions of Christians they murdered in the
Soviet Union, not to mention the Spaniards they killed
in the Spanish Civil War, and the Christian babies
that died at the hands of Jewish abortionists. Out of
one side of his mendacious mouth he told us to choose
life, and out of the other he apologized to the Jews
for there still being any Catholics left in the world.
He knew who the abortionists were, yet he said
nothing. An abominable sin of omission if ever there
were one.
John Paul's father was a Polish Army officer and, as
best we know, was actually an ethnic Pole. Yet John
Paul showed where his loyalty lay when he played the
sycophant at Auschwitz, while omitting all reference
to the Jewish crimes against the Poles. He failed to
address the fact that the Jews had murdered 30,000
Polish Army officers and buried their bodies in a mass
grave in the Katyn Forest. The Jews have tried to
blame the Nazis for this atrocity, because the Nazis
had discovered the bodies. But forensic evidence has
proven that the deaths of these officers occurred
before the Nazis ever got to that area.
One sin of commision of which he is definitely guilty
is the lie he told the world when revealing the
supposed Third Secret of Fatima in May 2000. The Third
Secret of Fatima was supposed to have been revealed in
1960, and it almost certainly foretold that the Church
was about to be usurped by Her enemies. Freemason John
XXIII refused to reveal it, since he was obviously
part of the conspiracy himself. John Paul claimed to
be "Mary's Pope," yet he ignored the fact that the
Talmud calls the Virgin Mary a whore.
John Paul II was a liar, both in omission and in
commission, and John Paul II was a Jew. Or do I repeat myself?
i must say you take all the bashes in good humour, which is very nice, else this discussion also could turn in foul mouthin...which is not necessary at all.
moreover there isnt a need for any discussion cos the Pope is Pope, his background should not matter. He should be respected for what he stands for today, end of story.
Thank you, The title of the Post was just the title of article. See in the Isamic Faith regardless of both parents' faith if someone chooses to be Muslim then they are Muslim, that's it. And whatever religion your parents practice does not undermine that. So, here this women is bent out of shape because she believes the pope's mother is Jewish. But I guess the common consensus here is it could not matter in the least.
Thank you.
I think it was a cracking post, it stimulates disccussion which is what religon is all about, whether it's true or not(methinks not}. Even if it was true, he must of been baptised and therefore a true catholic.
In Catholism , every sin carries a punishment, and there are two punishments for sin: eternal punishment inflicted in Hell, and temporary punishment inflicted in this life (hail mary's and the like)or in purgatory if left uncompleted upon death, if he has sinned and is not paid for it before he died then praying for him can deliver his soul from purgatory to heaven.
I think with the one billion plus catholics preying for him afetr his death, I think he will of got in by now, so i don't think anyone has to worry.
Now me, I've been divorced twice and the Priest at home tells me I could be headed the other way, if I don't keep going to church. I think I'll build teh sins up for one almighty confession one day.
you must be new to Qatarliving
Who really cares about any of the shite you are going on about....religion and politics are two things not to be talked about, did you never learn that.
Stupid topic, cant belive so many have responded to it.......
Shite.......................................................

Quick response cos I'm busy...
I didn't call you names, I think the writer is an idiot because her text doesn't make much sense.
It's ok to ask questions. I do not know if the pope's mother was a jew, nor I care. All i know is that he received his christening, his first comunion at 9 years of age and his confirmation at 18, which suggests that he was brought up within the catholic faith. I do not think his mother's roots are relevant.
i do not know much about the muslim faith. I have read the Quran. I have great sympathy for muslims and I respect the religion. I am always interested to learn more, that's all.
LOL!!! Quite honestly I have only read about Muslim fundamentalists in popular media...so please enlighten me. Because I can assure you "Christian/Jewish/Hindu/etc. Fundamentalist" is very rare if not non-existent in North American News.
And in regards to the responses--I was curious to see peoples reactions and you're right I guess got what I was looking for (except the answer if it really matters or not)...however, people can still have some class when they respond??? or do you disagree?
Okay, I have reread your original post. You asked whether Pope John Paul II was a Jew. At least that was the title of the thread and you asked if that was true. That is what I thought was idiotic as by definition you cannot be Pope and a believer of the Jewish faith.
As to the second question you asked " Does it really matter if his mother was a Jew..? I can see what you are getting at.
I guess if there was any truth in that vile diatribe and that the Pope's mother was an ethnic Jew then I can't see that it would matter in anyway at all. My mother could be a Catholic (in fact she is) and I could become a Muslim or a Jew. Equally, if my mother was Jewish and I became a Catholic it would in no way invalidate my Catholicism that my mother was Jewish.
Sorry if you were offended by previous post.
ESL teacher, you posted the stupid email deal with the responses. Of course there are fundamentalists in all religions. Do you not read the newspaper?
I always find it interesting that you seem to know everything about Islam and Muslims. And yet when a question is asked whether the late's Pope mother was in fact Jewish you seem to lose your lid? I was interested that's all. Unlike you I don't pretend to know everything.
I also don't minimize myself to petty name calling. Very mature.
I think also bringing this "Christian fundamentalist's" (as one member stated) thoughts were interesting because it shows there are fundamentalists (although I think they meant extremists) every where and in all religions and they generally publish hateful rubbish.
And those who don't pretend or act like scholars of every faith on the face Earth may question, or even believe, some of the subtle facts in the rantings.
At least I questioned...
all this discussion reminds me of the bumper sticker i saw years back
it went " My God was a Jewish Carpenter"

Fool I wasn't asking if the women's sentiments were true, because really I couldn't care less. I was wondering if anyone had heard of the pope's mother being Jewish or was it a bogus claim? Sir I am most certainly not daft and never thought anyone would be as stupid to suggest that I (or anyone else besides the writer) had ever thought for a moment that the Pope was Jewish. Good grief.
I am not Catholic and was just inquiring about whether the Pope's maternal side was Jewish (maybe it's common knowledge and maybe not) and I was trying to see if that really held any significance to Catholics. Maybe I could TEACH you how to read as I did ask "would it matter" in regards to the Pope's mother's religion.
that a teacher can ask the question "is this true? If an educated teacher could ven for a second think there was some truth in this crap then thats really frightening.
This is the stupidest thing I've ever read, why did you even bother to post it.
that a Pope who did his best to find ecunemical commonality between religions should be hated and lambasted for it.
Pope John Paul was clearly a good (though not perfect man) who tried to improve the world by fostering understanding between religions and by emphasising our common humanity. Pity there isn't more of that. Where there is understanding, respect soon follows. Even if he was ethnically a Jew, who cares?
The so called writer of this diatribe is clearly a hate filled racist lunatic and the best thing that can be done with this rubbish is to delete it and not to distribute it.
"Pope John Paul II was the first Pope in 2,000 years to
visit a Jewish synagogue"
He also qas the first Pope ever that visited a Mosque, you idiot, does this make him a muslim????
e46 I couldn't agree with you more. Probably bogus claims like DaVinci Code, all though the Author of DaVinci Code stated it was all fiction. I read the book let us on QL know what you think of the DVD.
Goodness Mr. Niceguy had I realized you were going to have enough time to edit my post I would have probably taken more care to re-read it. Okay provocative...better? Too bad, you missed the point of the post!! For instance, you brought up religious fundamentalism that could have made for an interesting discussion... ah well c'est la vie.
Now I think about it, your "pervocative statements" aint a typo. It suits.
Get real. This isn't an article, it's a diatribe stuck on a web page that's not subject to any normal editorial control. It's a catalogue of vague claims and silly accusations from some nutter who's a bit paranoid about Catholics, Jews & feminists. (And probably Muslims, socialists, Taoists, scientists, Buddists, artists, Animists, free-thinkers and humans generally.) You'll probably find the writer is a red-neck creationist/flat-earther.
People like this exist. It's not just Moslems that are plagued by "fundamentalists" or people who believe what they want to believe and make up the rest. It's a problem, like alcoholism and bad weather and birth defects and not being loved enough. Do what you can to combat it, but never take it seriously.
Where was she throughout his 20 something years at the head of the Church?
Which reminds me that I got the DaVinci Code DVD and have yet to watch it.
lol, no it wasn't one of the chain mails, it an article someone wrote. Not that that makes it any more credible. Do you think it's just a lady playing a silly prank to get attention?
I didn't even bother reading. The head of the Catholic Church a Jew!
Sounds like those emails I get all the time; if you don't forward it something bad will happen to you.
Zidane headbutted Materazzi because he swore at the Prophet Muhammad... etc.
These people need to get a life. Problem is there will be hundreds of ignorant people who will believe it and spread it.
