I am coming to Qatar Nov. 01 and I found that Qtel is having this postpaid GSM promotion. Is it a good promotion, do they do it frequently

The reason I am asking because I can ask one of my friends to get it for me now to save on Connection fees when I arrive. But if they do it often then I can do it when I come

You can get a prepaid Hala card for 1 year for 300QR.

You can get a pre-paid card and phone before you get a RP, just not a post paid. 75% of the country has a per-paid plan so get you a phone, buy a Qtel Hala card and talk away.

I'm curious too. I'm here now but I understand I can't get Q-Tel until I have my residency card.
