Qatar Independence Day - A Long Weekend!

By mohammed

The third of September is Independence Day in Qatar! Now you don't get many public holidays in Qatar (except of course for all the Eid Holidays) so this it is especially cool that Independence Day in Qatar is on a Sunday this year meaning that it is a long weekend (Friday, Saturday and Sunday).

Now if only I had somewhere to go :)

Dentist, thats awful :( I hope that child wasn't in too much pain and you managed to salvage his teeth, twisted anteriors, my goodness!

I also feel sorry for his brother, he must feel guilt ridden now..........Unless off course hes one of those monster psychopath children that behave like gremlins.

What exactly is the reason these children are so unruly, yet the parents breed like rabbits with no intention of a responsibily structured & caring upbringing.

I've seen it and its not a pretty picture....look out world!

Yes, I know this is a totally unrelated topic to the one that was initially discussed on this thread... but, I just noticed that Mohammed is also from South Africa.... so just wanted to say "Hi" from one Saffer to another...... lol.....

Hope to bump into you somewhere in Doha.

Take care

Xena.....

The drains are sticking up like that (as i painfully found out last week) because they have yet to put the final asphalt layer on the roads. I dont know why they have delayed it. Maybe they are putting it off till closer to the games so all the roads look brand new ????

I am at work now....at the health center in Madinat Khalifa (khlifa village) and i am sooooooooooooooooooooooo bored except for that child who came with facial trauma...his elder brother pushed him off the sofa at home...his teeth bone (alveolar bone) were fractured and his 4 anterior (front) teeth were twisted in his mucosa !!!!!!

What a happy long weekened !!!!!!!!!

I hope you all have a better one than mine ;)

Don't know how anyone says temporary. Ashghal is repsonsible for the whole mess but then they conveniently pass on the balme to the private contractors. Makes you wonder about the whole bidding process, doesn't it.

Reckon deadlines are meant to be ignored.

what do you think about the roads now that they have been partially opened to the public. I know I sound like a cynic alot of the times but I really am not very impressed with the quality. Especially the sewers y are they sticking out like that. I dont buy the whole its a temporary situation according to the newspapers. However, I do believe the undertakers are to blame for the most part.

generally safe. Safer than other places. The only real danger is the driving. Also be aware of some men (not necessarily qataries!) that might follow you, specially when you walk by yourself. Other than that...very safe!

I guess I am in a grumpy mood today, but I *really* wish people would start their own threads when they want to ask about a totally different topic to what is already being discussed.... < hmpf >
