what's on TV
Hi everyone,
Just moved to Qatar and I have a bit of a silly question. I have Showtime Digital satellite at home but never manage to figure out what will be on as I don't seem to be able to find any listings for Showtime on the net.
It would be really nice to know what will be on the movie channels, I haven't been able to spot any DVD rental place in Doha?
Thanks for any help,
P
PS: Tried to order some DVDs from Amazon and was told several of them could not be send to Doha, the bizarre thing was that one of them was "Ice Age"???!!!
Get a Shop n Ship US box with Aramex, that way it's delivered to a US address and then forwarded to you here. That's what I do. Sometimes things go to the censors here before you get them so choose wisely. Books included.
I dont have an ID either. Ive found that my passport is just as acceptable. They are only interested in the number on your visa, which i assume will also appear on the ID.
I guess the purpose of the ID was to give you some document to prove you were resident and still allow the sponsor to hold your passport.
Thanks for the help e46M3, I will give them a call.
I did manage to get a few DVDs sent to me by Amazon, but for others I got the message "We're sorry, but this item can't be delivered to the country you selected".
I imagine that it might be because they are classified as 18 ("LA Confidential" and "Usual suspects" for instance) but for "Ice Age", I really can't figure out what their objection might be!
Ok, Thanks a lot TG. :)
I am not very sure DG...IF you speak to these guys..they will advise you...
Which ID TG, if you don't mind my asking? Is your passport fine or do you need your residency card.
You need Money, your ID and a phone number to call..4353513,4353565...Qatar Multi-tech...
Can someone tell me who to call to get Showtime. I'm pretty sure you don't have to be a resident to get it, but what do you need?
I used to have Showtime and if you call their customer service they'll send you their monthly schedule.
You can get DVDs from Amazon no problem.
I do it all the time.
