Working as an office girl for QP...

Hello all,

I've noticed some postings on the QP website for secretaries. I am currently working another company in Doha, but would be potentially interested in joining QP when done with my present gig. Does anyone know what a typical wage for a secretary with QP might be? I am an American, if that affects things. Speaking of, do they hire westerners for such jobs, or do they try and hold out for people from developing nations so that they can pay them lower (thus making it rather pointless to apply)? Would such a job most likely come with company housing? Any idea of how they go about hiring- do you need to do more than just send in a CV online, do they take forever to bring new people aboard, etc.? Thank you!!

Being an American can help..if you can prove that you add any further value to your position which others can't..Thankfully in QP it doesn't help if the only USP you have is your passport...It only helps in Western companies...

Every position is clearly defined..and if you can amend your CV accordingly and match the profile..you have a fair chance...

Basic is around 3.7 K, Total take home amounts to around 6K (Depends on overtime and allowances). Senior Secretaries take higher too...Western inducement could make a bit of a difference..but for that position I doubt its very high...As is obvious these are not 100% figures..

There may be the odd Western female of Asian origin in QP but as a general rule, in my experience anyway, they only ever recruited western females as Senior Secretaries for senior management. Even these secretaries were classified as Senior Staff and tended to be carreer secretaries. I don't believe the job would carry a housing allowance if your spouse is accommodated or paid housing allowances by his company. Salary wouldn't be a lot.

Check out the QP job site to see what's going.
