Does anyone know the latest news regarding sponsorship change without a release from your current employer?
I heard that if you pay something like QR4500 it can be done.

Changing sponsor here is qatar is very difficult
You can write into Gulf time's legal expert column who can give you a clear picture of your query as per the laws. Could be useful!!!
I changed after 12 months but had my employer's permission. Nothing is clear cut, it depends who you want to go and work for. If the new company is well connected they can pull strings if they really want you

Maybe it's changed to 2 years. In 2004, DAGOC agreed I could change sponsor but the ministry denied the request as I hadn't been in Qatar (that particular stay) for 12 months.
As I recall you need to be with your first sponsor for two years before you can change and one year with your second sponsor. In either case, you need permission to change.
I believe that you need your current sponsor's permission and have to have been in possession of a residence permit for at least 12 months.
