Did Honda Pilot shape change recently for Model 09?

It seems the prices in Qatar is more expensive than US for the same vehicle.

try out the forester...

you'll be surprise the all wheel drive capabilities on the roundabouts.

Everyday...how many roundabouts you have to turn at certain speed. that suv rocks. Nimble stick to the ground. take corners easily and in control...as long as the tires are not worn.

not too big that you can squeeze in and out easily along bombay st.

Too bad there's no turbo model...the torque and hp equivalent to any 3.5 liter SUVs...

JoeR's estimates are quite accurate, I am in the hunt for an SUV myself. I went to the toyota dealer last week and the cheapest LC was a 2007 GX for QR154K.

I'd like to know about the 2007 Mitsubishi Pajero (US Montero equivalent) or even the 2006 model.

I was told last week a hummer would cost about QR200k, whereas a 2007 Land Cruiser would be in the region of QR140k - QR170k.

I have no idea how accurate those quotes are though, as it came up in the midst of casual conversation.

German and Jap SUV's are reliable no doubt about that but that reliability comes with a very high price tag.

Let me give you an example... Trail Blazer 3.5 V6 will cost you around 100,000....

Hummer H3 around 110,000.... Ford explorer is around the same price range..

If you look at the comparable German models which are X5 & X3 for that engine size you are talking about in excess of 250,000 for X5. X3 being slightly cheaper.

Japs, well only descent truck they have is land cruiser which is again more then 200,000. Prado being around 130,000 to 150,000

Secondly, most of us are in qatar for fews years only, I am not looking for a car which will last me a life time, becuase I will not be able to take it with me as Gas will kill me back home.

Warranty covers around 3 years which is good enough for me. After which I will either be gone or bored with this car and will be looking for another one.

Talking of craftmanship, I will strongly recommend you pay a visit to a dealer and check out the new trail blazer... it not bad.

Actually I have nothing against horsepower and the fuel consumption it commands, I was speaking on reliability and quality of craftsmanship.

Reason is very simple... Only here we can afford the gas for those big SUV. Gas being the cheapest here. Try filling a tank for 3$ a gallon... I hope you get the picture.

It's funny how many people here PREFER American cars and trucks.

Those of us from North America wonder "what are you thinking?!"

Hummer H3 will cost about 110,000 QR Basic Model, Manual Transmission... Auto Will be around 130,000 QR.

Good value for money is fortuner by Toyota around 90,000 QR.

H3 rules, it is ugly, it is rough it is all Beast... Thats the motor for me..... Some people don't like it but it is up to them...

Insurance is expensive so need to think about that on top of monthly installments.

Giasi, oh come on the H3 is very nice! Mind you, as an expat mum with baby in the car, the XC90, or VW Toureg is definatly on top of my list. But I've always liked the hummer. It's just that now every tom dick and harry has it in the ME. What to do?

:)

So anyone gonna post prices?????

Moonbeam.... my thoughts

Hummer H3-my wheels are bigger than your wheels, get out of my way. a hideous piece of engineering and not at all comfortable. really for men who REALLY are trying to make up for deficiences in other places ;)

Jeep-new model is quite good and the weak dollar makes it more reasonably priced than nissan and toyota. American build quality is still a negative point.

Volvo- wonderful but expensive.

hyundai- cheap and cheerful. but dont contemplate taking it off road.

i know i may have peed off some people cos they own some of these cars... but dats life :)

Respect

GIASI

Hummer H3 (wishful thinking) :)

Jeep Cherokee 2006

Volvo XC90 (also wishful thinking)

Hyundai Santa Fe' or Tucson

All you male car fanatics......help us out, pretty please :)
