How much should I budget for a decent condition second hand 4wd car?

I have to keep in mind that I will need an area for Anex to be outside at times. So will probably need a villa.... but the looks of the site though, there are always people looking to share accomodation, so I doubt I will have trouble finding someone to share with me......

Are villa's normally 2 or three bedroomed? Then I will at least be able to work out how many people I can share with....

At the moment here in South Africa, I have 4 housemates......, we also have 7 dogs between us....lol.... but I would only expect me to have a dog in Doha, as I doubt many people bring there animals with them......

If you want an apartment like 2BD then try to ask for 7,500QR allowence.

If you want a compound villa then ask for 13,000QR at least.

About the car, you can get a 4x4 like Nissan Pathfinder so you will have a room for your dog and skybox.

I to will be looking for a place soon. As a single female with one dog coming with me... what do you suggest I look for, and in what price range do you suggest I look at. I have not yet negotiated my contract with my employers, so what do you think is a fair amount to ask for in terms of accommodation allowances?

I will be needing to buy a vehicle also, but will need something that I can transport a large dog and a skybox (kennel), you know like the ones used to bring dogs in on planes. So it will need to have a roomy interior.... Can you suggest something.

Sure you can get a nice car with 36,000QR, but also you can buy a new car with installments.

For apartment you can get a 2BD with 6,500QR (now before the rate go up) but it is hard to get a villa with private swimming pool with 13,000QR, you could try compound villa with this rate.

There are a used car market where you can buy a good cheap car according to your budget, it is hard to tell you how much cause I don't know what brand or model do you like.

Thanks for the advice - also I noticed that you are hooked into the reals estate market.

I am looking for one of two things:

1. A 2 bedroom apartment for 6,500 QR

2. A 3 or 4 bedroom villa with a private swimming pool for 13,000 (which I will share with someone)

I don't really mind too much about location (although will go on your recommendations - but I would not like to be more than a 30 minute drive from work (not sure where my office is yet, but will let you know when I find out.

Looking forward to moving over - although getting a little nervous now :-)

I suggest you to buy Nissan Pathfinder like 2004 model, it might cost about 60,000-70,000QR or you can pay les for cheaper models.

Let me know when you arrive and I can giude you to friend of mine who knows alot about cars.
