anyone working in Qatar Foundation HR dept?
I've applied for a job at one of the institutes (QCRI) run by Qatar Foundation (QF). Apparently my application has been approved by the members of the research division I applied to, and has been forwarded to the Qatar Foundation human resources department.
Unfortunately the selection procedure seems rather opaque, and there doesn't appear to be a systematic way of finding out the status of my application - from what I understood from the person I'm in contact with at QCRI, I'm just expected to sit tight and wait for QF HR department to contact me (which, for all I know, may never happen).
Is there anyone working there who might be able to give me some info as to where my application stands? If you are willing and able to assist, kindly contact me via PM.

hello mindblah, have you joined QCRI already or still in waiting?
this is so common to all GOVT companies in GCC. the average time for visas & joining is around 6 months. I know people who waited upto 8 months to join in QP and ADCO in Abu dhabi. just relax and wait. this waiting period is really tough & frustrating, but you have to go through this. Cheers mate.

Yes, opaque and lengthy describe the process. It is best to wait because any attempt to penetrate the system may be seen as interference. The inconvenience to you doesn't seem to be a factor in play usually. Sorry.
