India not willing to play by the rules: US lawmakers
Top American lawmakers on Friday criticised India's trade and business policies, saying that New Delhi is not willing to play by the rules.
"When you look at India's industrial policy, trade barriers, the tax discrimination and what appears to be an absolute disregard for our intellectual property rights, you realize that India is a country that is not willing to play by the rules right now," Congresswoman Marsha Blackburn said at a Congressional hearing.
"What's worse is that they're trying to gloss over this.
"India's principles set a disappointing example to the rest of the world. No country that calls itself a friend of the US would celebrate isolationism the way that India is doing," Blackburn said.
Expressing deep concern over the Indian policies related to the intellectual property rights, Congressman Leonard Lance from New Jersey said the United States must exhibit leadership in the area of protecting IP rights.
"Emerging companies that adopt the Indian model of intellectual property policymaking also pose a risk to United States companies.
Congressman Peter Olson from Texas expressed his anger over the recent Indian policies, which he said is badly hurting American companies
"As a nation, we should handle India like my dad did when I was growing up and I made his blood boil: He put his arm around me and or pulled me where he would go, to make sure his fingers were resting firmly on my shoulder just to inflict some pain if I diverted from the course we would go down. That's what we should do with their government," Olson said.
It is obvious from the last statement that Congressman Peter Olson is from a broken home. :o(
Who brought down 1000 x 2 banks altogether in the recent past ?
Ask somebody to give you the facts about the profit made by foreign companies from the India Stock Market ... in 2010, 2011 & 2012 ...
India's popularity is growing .... USA officials visit showed it ...
I guess the said protectionist policies only has kept India good in these rough economic times when the biggies are falling and it is standing tall and giving them hope to come to their rescue. Else following their model India would be also standing behind them for alms.
Well they are correct in what they say. India is not welcoming for foreign investments and is a very difficult place for foreign companies to do business.
In fact these protectionist policies hurt the Indian economy but are politically popular.
hater always creating forums and commenting against India and its policies Hope MODS take severe action and block there ID'S as this not Indian group to be discussed
perhaps the indians or the other asian countries are not willing to bend backwards to keep the americans in good spirits and not willing to blindly follow them around
No themorpheous..this is kinda like this "If US gets benefits, richest (1% or 2%) population of their allies also get some portion, unfortunately if they fail, it affects both rich and poor.
I like policies of scandinavian countries than US as even in the name of AID the later one grabs something they desire.
US wants the entire world to bow down to them and their policies which only benefit them and no one else. Keep trying!

hahahahaha...it has Wallmart written all over it. And now they are probing pipe imports and blocking IRS's bid for Indian IT companies. Anyways seems stage is being set for the upcoming visit of Silent Singh to US in Sept...:)
US wants all countries in the world to open markets for its companies but have in place stiff industrial policy & trade barriers to protect US companies & Jobs.
If each country copies US laws and implements it... US will have no country to trade with.
Then US will say everybody is copying its laws... and it is illegal....lol
